I just did a speed test thing and 75 wpm, when you learn touch typing its weird, we had this program where there was a keyboard at the bottom of the screen and when you typed fingers moved along it so you could see what you were meant to do with your own hands, my teacher who taught was super super fast, I have to look to do a ! or - and now @ as it is on a different place on my keyboard and I never learnt where all the numbers are so I have to think about where to put my hands when I do those.

YES, YO! I TOUCH TYPE JOLLY QUICKLY. I TAUGHT MYSELF, SORT OF, WITH A LITTLE PLASTIC KEYBOARD THINGY THAT HAD DIFFERENT EXERCISES. AND THEN I WENT TO UNI AND WROTE LOTS OF ESSAYS AND JUST GOT QUICKER AND QUICKER. I CAN'T TOUCHTYPE THE NUMBERS THOUGH. JUST THE LETTERS AND FULL STOP, COMMA, COLON, SEMICOLON AND APOSTROPHE. AND I AM NOT VERY COORDINATED, SO PROBABLY CAN'T DO IT AS QUICKLY AS SOME - LIKE I WAS SHIT AT PIANO WHEN I HAD TO LEARN IT AS A KID, YO. BUT WHEN PEOPLE HEAR ME TYPE THEY SAY IT IS QUICK.

I can touch type about 75-80 WPM. I can do it because I guess I've spent so much time on a computer lol.

I touch type, my fastest is around 90-100 wpm. I learned from a program called Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 9. Which we were forced to use when our school first got computers. Then there was this other program at my other school, but I don't remember what it was and it sucked anyway.
Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 9 is amazing, but it's an old program

I couldn't learn from those programs. I just could NOT touch type, for the life of me.

Until I moved in with my mom, and was working nights. I had to share a room with her, but couldn't go to sleep immediately after work. She was still sleeping, so I'd have to type in the dark. THAT'S how i learned to touch type. hehehe

I was taught to "touch type" as early as the third grade. They gave us these rubber orange covers that went over the keys and we had to use them while doing our computer lessons.
As I recall my highest WPM was in the 140's.

Usually when I write my entires I'm always watching TV or trying to investigate what my child is getting into. I rarely look at the keyboard

i only type with my index fingers and middle fingers. i rarely look at the keyboard. i just seem to know where it all is after so long using it. touch typing always annoyed me because i can't do it as fast as the way i normally type. not sure what my wpm is though, haven't done one of those since high school.
