it showed in my messages. so i knew the love was there :)
you know how they got us to not have sex in my day? tell the kids in great detail how exactly they go about testing you for std's and all the horrible shit that happens if you get one. having a 51 year old bald guy tell you the horrors of herpes is a great way to never want to stick it in or have it stuck in you ever. ew. |

the guy's were all: "haha, sucks to be a girl. having metal things scrape bits of you for testing" which only made our teacher smile and then go on to explain how they test blokes for things. think peehole + mini umbrella. ;D then we were pretty much all like "I AM NEVER EVER HAVING SEX! or if i do i'm going to be on every contraceptive known to man" ;D

I think almost everyone I ever knew who pledged to wait until marriage broke that pledge...like other people have said, it's an easy thing to promise when you're young and sex is still many years away, but once you get older and get into a serious relationship it's a different story. Especially when you take into consideration that people aren't getting married at 18 or their earlier 20's as much anymore, most people are waiting until after college or until their mid 20's for marriage if not longer, and once a person is that age and in a committed relationship I think they just give up on waiting any longer to do the deed.
The sex ed in my first high school was pretty decent. It was a whole section of our mandatory grade 9 health class, so it was more than just an hour or day long lesson. In the high school I graduated from health class could be taken at any grade level, so there were a ton of seniors in health class learning about sex who'd lost their virginities well beforehand. That didn't make sense to me, what is the point of teaching sex ed to 17 and 18 year old? I think you need to teach sex ed BEFORE kids start having sex for any of it to be effective. |
