:\
If I hated Bloop, I would have said "I HATE BLOOP." I wouldn't say I am going to stay here, and I wouldn't ask for suggestions on what we might do to make this a community like it used to be. You know, you say I have to do it for myself, but that's the whole point. I browse around and don't see anyone I think I could relate to- it used to be easy for me to find new people to talk to, at least for a few entries. I don't see how I can be solely responsible for making Bloop a community. People are acting like I insulted them personally, and said Bloop sucks- but *shrug* I guess that all comes back to how there are few people on here anymore that can relate to me and "get" my style of communication. |
Estella Post Count: 1779 |
BUT GOSH, YO - THIS IS THE VERY THING THAT MAKES BLOOP SO VERY ENTERTAINING. YOU SAY A SIMPLE FACT, AND PEOPLE TOTALLY TELL YOU YOU'VE SAID SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY, AND THAT YOU'VE DEEPLY OFFENDED THEM! IT'S SO SURREAL, YO!
ALTHOUGH I'M EQUALLY BEMUSED AT YOUR POST HERE, YO - I DIDN'T SEE ANYONE SUGGESTING YOU HATED BLOOP OR THAT YOU WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING BLOOP A COMMUNITY. PEOPLE WERE GENERALLY AGREEING WITH YOU. I CAN'T SEE ANYONE WHO TOOK IT AS A PERSONAL INSULT. LIKE MOST PEOPLE SEEMED TO 'GET' WHAT YOU WERE SAYING. |
mixie Post Count: 196 |
Perhaps you are right. It very well may be I who took other than intended when people tell me to leave if I hate it, or that I need to try something new if I thrive on Dear Anon, or that we can't let the idiots win... right on, this is BLOOP, I have to think like a BLOOPER, not like little old me who has been holed up in friends-only land for 5 years! Thanks for translating!
|
Estella Post Count: 1779 |
I THINK THAT IS A GENERAL THING THAT PEOPLE SAY IF PEOPLE EXPRESS DISSATISFACTION WITH BLOOP - THE WHOLE 'IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, THEN LEAVE.' ALTHOUGH NORMALLY THEY SAY IT WHEN THE PERSON IS COMPLAINING RATHER THAN WHEN THE PERSON IS ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT LEAVING BLOOP. BUT, LIKE, I GOT THE FEELING SUMAMEN'S POSTS WERE ADDRESSED TO EVERYONE RATHER THAN SPECIFICALLY TO YOU. PEOPLE OFTEN JUST REPLY TO THE WHOLE FORUM. LIKE, THERE WERE PLENTY OF PEOPLE WHO WERE EXPRESSING MUCH MORE HARDCORE DISSATISFACTION WITH BLOOP THAN YOURS, YO. AND I DON'T THINK THE COMMENT ABOUT THRIVING ON DEAR ANON HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU - LIKE OTHER PEOPLE SAID THEY THRIVE ON IT - INCLUDING ME, YO! - SO I THINK SUMAMEN'S COMMENT WAS JUST GENERAL, ABOUT SUCH PEOPLE.

Thanks again for clarification! I definitely am used to being attacked personally on the forums :P

The whole 'if you don't like, then leave' things annoys me. I mean - c'mon, does that really have to be posted on every single entry/post/comment that has a complaint? It's not a groundbreaking comment; I'm sure the person has heard it a million times already. If they wanted to leave, they'd probably be outta here already.
That and the whole "no comment" thing. Hello? Do people realize that by posting "No comment" they're, um, commenting...? |
Estella Post Count: 1779 |
HAHA - I THINK THE 'NO COMMENT' IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY, YO. IT'S A PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE WAY OF SAYING 'I HAVE AN OPINION WHICH IS NOT FAVOURABLE, BUT I KNOW IT WOULD BE RUDE TO TELL YOU MY OPINION, SO I'M REFRAINING - BUT I'M LETTING YOU KNOW I'M REFRAINING SO THAT YOU KNOW I DON'T APPROVE. SO, LIKE, I TOTALLY GET TO BE SUBTLY RUDE ANYWAY!'

If you want old drama back, I can start a layout diary again? I swore that off long ago, as I decided that I COULDN'T handle it properly than though. Really COULDN'T. So much shit was going on my life in those days I was losing myself easily and life was un-manageable.
As for bloop anonymous, I agree that it did/does egg on much un-needed Drama, in fact if it were to ever come back maybe the owner should have it put on friends only or something? So that way if you really don't want it to exist it is out of mind, out of sight? Maybe make the comments so only the reader can view their own? I have grown though, although bloop HASN'T quite gotten to see it yet, it's kicking in slowly, it has shown through in my real life, such as my new STRICT BITCH manager is actually giving me hours because I am not "fooling around on the front end". And my guy roommates are cutting me more slack because I have actually been distancing myself and not messing with them. I guess because bloop is the internet, I am way less serious most of the time? Who knows maybe I took all my un-seriousness to the internet, only time will tell. Oh gees I like to ramble, what can I say I love to write/type! |
mixie Post Count: 196 |
lol! I love rambly-ness! It's not that I want old drama, I just really wish there were as many people on here as there used to be, I guess- I want it to be easy for me to browse through and say, "hey, they seem like they could get me" :P Maybe by living under my bloop rock I have become someone that no longer... belongs in the bloop public! lol

Have I thought about leaving Bloop? Yeah. And I've starting multiple diaries on other sites, and it just never works out. So for now, I'm still here, updating every five years {or so it seems} and rarely reading any my faves. Okay, so maybe I've not "really" here. Honestly, I've lost interest on most of the internet fads I was so into - chatting, myspace, blogging.
I have no idea what can be done to make Bloop feel like home again, but I'd rather like it. I do want something more than the random entry every month or so that says I haven't slept/ate/gone out/done anything human since I started college. xD |

i don't think i honestly understand how bloop's changed. there was drama and complainers back in the day, and there still is. granted most of the drama isn't as intelligent as the old drama, but the people that whinge about everything are still here. my friends here write interesting entries and leave great comments, because that's what you do when you're friends with someone. it's not hard to make friends here. if anything i think i prefer bloop now to back in the day. the drama is easier to avoid if you're not interested in it. i feel like people are a bit more mellow for the most part.

Not sure exactly but I have been on Bloop since almost the very beginning. I think my diary was well under 100 and we were looking to have a couple of hundred. But yes Bloop has changed and not nearly as much fun as before.

No. I haven't thought about leaving bloop.
I don't befriend the drama idiots who wanna run away crying every time something bad happens or when they take something too seriously (ie Dear Anon). After the crash my entire faves list returned. So I didn't feel like I lost anything, because my friends were back. For me bloop is about the people I associate myself with. |

YOU ARE SUCH A HARCORE BLOOPER, BLUE BELLA, YO! YOU SNEER IN THE FACE OF DRAMAZ AND TOTALLY CARRY ON AS USUAL!
I JUST THOUGHT - IF YOU CHANGED YOUR NAME TO LADY BLOOPELLA, IT WOULD SOUND PRACTICALLY THE SAME. ;D |

LOL, it would... but I'm not THAT obsessed ;) And wouldn't wanna feed the hungry drama whores any more now, would I?! :P
