I love Australia. Half my dad's family live in Brisbane (my aunt and her husband moved there on one of the infamous '£10 flights' back in the 70s, and they never left), and I also worked in Melbourne for a month while I was at university and have travelled a bit (Canberra, Sydney, Fraser Island). I'd love to go to Perth one day though, and I'd like to see Ayre's Rock one day, oh, and the Great Barrier Reef.
Also, the weather is better (although it was hard to believe when it rained in Melbourne for the entire month I was there :P), although perhaps a little too hot for me in summer (I've only ever been in winter), so although I love to visit, I'm not sure I could live there with that heat (especially with all the spiders, snakes etc!). I think I'd prefer to live in New Zealand where it's a little cooler, and where everything is closer together. Australia is so spread out that you have to fly to get anywhere. Plus I think the scenery is more spectacular in NZ. Still, I do love Australia too, and I wouldn't rule out living and working there for a year sometime, but preferably in the south where it's cooler, like Melbourne or Adelaide. Every Australian I've ever met has been lovely. I also love the accent (especially on Hugh Jackman ;)). |

I have lived in NZ, I was born there! If you want to live somewhere cooler in Australia you just go live in Canberra heheh!

Yeah, I've been to Canberra, don't think I'd fancy living there! And it was cold and pouring with rain when I was there too.

OOH - I DON'T KNOW. I THINK THEY MUST BE VERY RUDE. THE NAUGHTY MRS MANDY MOO IS ALWAYS CALLING ME A DAG, YO! ;D
I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO AUSTRALIA, ALAS. BUT I KNOW ALL ABOUT IT FROM WATCHING NEIGHBOURS AND HOME AND AWAY. LIKE I KNOW THAT IN AUSTRALIA IT'S POSSIBLE FOR A PERSON TO BE SMALL AND BLONDE ONE DAY, AND THEN THE NEXT DAY TO BE BIG AND BRUNETTE, LIKE, WITH A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FACE AND BODY AND VOICE - AND NO ONE EVER NOTICES! GOSH, YO - THAT WAS SOME MIRACLE WITH PIPPA ON HOME AND AWAY, YO! AND LUCY ON NEIGHBOURS - GOSH, YO, SHE CHANGED HEADS ABOUT 5 TIMES! |

After Canada, Australia is my second choice for emigration... I've never been and the only evidence I have to base my opinions on are bits of TV shows and documentrys, but it just looks like everyone is so laid back over there and not quite as stressed or miserable as the English, lol.
Oh and everything I've seen of Australian TV has been superb, though I've never seen any Australian comedy (could someone reccomend?). My absolute fave was Secret Life of Us or something like that, and the Aussie Biggest Loser saw me through my maternity leave with my first son. I think I fell in love with Bob and Gillian. |
