yep, everyone in our theater jumped as well! lol. My husband noted that just shows it was well done-because of course everyone knew what was under there, but they were startled anyway!

Your husband makes a very good point. That sense was very well done.

I saw it again today, and despite covering my eyes at that bit... I still peeked at the wrong moment, and jumped AGAIN!

I was thoroughly disappointed with the movie. Near the end, there was totally supposed to be this epic fight scene between the kids + death eaters... and it totally never happened. Gosh.

OMG I totally felt the same way. My mom kept telling me to shut up & watch. But that part was like the best part of the book. They totally should have put it in.

I liked it, although I was also disapointed in the same way? haha. Like my dad kept sighing throughout the movie, saying "where's the plot? where's the plot?" it was an hour and a half of just snogging (although i didnt mind it haha!) and countless random scenes that had nothing to do with the main plot. The ending was supposed to be the best part, but it was just like " !!... oh, that's it?" Really anti-climatic, I thought. But whatever, I'm a true harrypotter fan and loved it nonetheless:) Better than the previous, I thought.

PS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL RADCLIFFE! 21 ALREADY haha

I just saw it today. Was disappointed. Very anti-climatic.... too much talking not enough action!! Best movie by far was the 3rd, 4th and 5th!

I have to agree it was very anti-climatic but I think by doing what they did it allows them to maybe go more in depth in curtain things in the next book. Not sure what it might be, but I'm hoping they find a way to show more what's going on in Voldemorts circle while the kiddos are on their "camping trip". I'm looking forward to that & to the big fight.

But that's how it was in the book. There wasn't a lot of action in the book (although I would have liked to see a little of the battle at the castle at the end). In fact the movie included an additional action scene, in the scene at The Burrow.

I just got back from my second viewing (between my first and second viewings I also finished re-reading the book!), and I still think it was very close to the book. Sure some of the background was missing... but that's what happens when books get adapted to movies. I wouldn't have minded seeing an explanation for how Harry knew what to give Ron when he collapsed from the poison... or an explanation of how the wine was poisoned, but those really are minor points.

Having seen it twice now though, I do wish they'd included some of the battle at the castle between the Order and the Death Eaters. Still, hopefully the battle at the end of the final movie will make up for that, and even in the book, there's very little about the battle.

As a side note, it's well worth watching at an Imax, although I felt dizzy during the 3D at the start, when the Death Eaters where flying through London! The scenes in the cave were especially good up on that huge screen.
