Go to the doctors, if it is thrush and you leave it for a while, you'll need more than a shag to stop the itching! If you have thrust too, your boyfriend/partner could have it as well, so he needs to get it out at the doctors as well.
Make sure you use either plain water or soap/shower gel designed for your vagina, other soaps/shower gels can cause thrust and burning down there (especially mint shower gel omg). |

If she has 'thrust'?
Freudian slip?! ;D |

OUCH! I can not imagine the burn that a mint shower gel could create! *Winces!* Especially after sex, that would be outrageously painful! lol

I would have to agree with those that are advising you see your doctor. He/she is the only one that can really answer your questions.

No doctor, no health insurance. Am working on acquiring both, unfortunately, it is a process.
There's no real emergency here, I don't know if people just misunderstood or what. All it ever is is a slight itching every so often. Not nearly enough for me to worry about it unless it gets worse. No signs of yeast infection other then the itching. Anyway, thanks to all. |

Well you clearly saw a doctor to go on the pill in the first place

Not necessarily. She could have gone to Planned Parenthood to get the bc.

I thought planned parenthood helped with everything regarding the downstairs area?
I'd assume a vaginal infection would be covered by them, wouldn't it? |
Mary Magdelene Post Count: 506 |
The general health care and women's health care outside of pregnancy prevention aspects of Planned Parenthood are pretty new aspects, and they're not done in ALL Planned Parenthoods.

Well, since you can't go to the doctor, and you have no other signs of a yeast infection, may I make the following suggestions:
Stop using whatever soap you are using to clean yourself. The soap may being drying you out, and extreme dryness will cause itching. If you douche, do not use a douche with a fragrance. You could have a sensitivity to it. If you douche, do not use a vinegar douche either. Vinegar aggravates dryness. If that means to stop douching, then yeah, stop douching. Scrutinize your laundry detergent. Stop using whatever brand you are using and get a fragrance-free, bleach-free, hypoallergenic detergent. Arm&Hammer makes one. If none of that helps, and you are still experiencing the excessive dryness (which yes, the pill....or ANY hormonal birth control for that matter....can cause), purchase some water soluble lubricant (KY is the best) and apply a little bit every time you feel the dryness itch, whether or not you're going to have sex. You may want to wear a pantyliner so protect your panties from getting too wet, but applying the lubricant will help ease the itching caused by the dryness. (Or you can just do this first to save yourself from the irritation of the itching while you try to figure out if it's allergy related) |

I just did a little research on which lubricant to use, and KY is good for occasional use (non-sexual related), but Doctors recommend Replens because it has a special molecule that draws water into the vaginal tissues.

Thank you for this; I really appreciate it.
I don't douche, so that's not a problem there. I will have to change laundry detergents and I'll get some lubricant later today. Thanks for your help again, really appreciate it. |

If you go to PP I think they should do a free STI screening too and a yeast infection is considered an STI.
|
Mary Magdelene Post Count: 506 |
The last time I went to PP they did not test for yeast infections, and only certain types of STI's but not all.

Be sure the lubricants are sugar free!
I've heard some nasty nasty stories about women who use the flavored ones that contain sugar. -shudders- No bueno! |

Haha, I don't know if you watch Dr. Oz's show or him on Oprah, but he talks about vaginas a lot :) I'll just post this from his website, maybe it'll help. (I like him a lot!)
Here are some pointers from the Dr. Oz Team that can help keep your vagina healthy. • Clean daily using a mild soap and water • Dry yourself well after bathing or swimming • Don't douche, use perfumed sprays or talcum powder • Wear loose clothing at night or go commando • Avoid constricting clothing • Avoid panties made with synthetic fibers • Eat probiotics or take supplements to keep normal bacteria in balance, particularly during a course of antibiotics |

And to go along with my comment, I don't really know if any of that helps. I'm not an expert, just really think Dr. Oz is a genius XD Maybe some of those things can help.
