yes she was in nursing classes she was smart and she knew what she was doing Munchhausen by proxy syndrome or not she deserved to be punished to the full extent of the law

yea she used to like donate her breastmilk to some lab for other mothers who couldnt breastfeed but needed breastmilk. and they like tested your milk and looked at your background but that is scary. i defintly wouldnt of wanted her breastmilk. yikes!

Where is the petition someone spoke of?? I seriously hope she gets put in jail for a long time for this. I can't imagine ANYONE doing something like this to their child.

I personally think she planned it. She was taking studies for nursing and I believe a minor in psychology. She knows if she told them she did it for attention that she wouldnt go to prison for life and she'd be put in an institiution for a year, and then get her kids right back...

hopefully if they see she is well studied and probably knows all this is will stack against her xxx

It is strange because she came across as such a perfect mother, and so so innocent. I really DO hope she gets the help she needs but to be honest i doubt anyone would trust her around her children again.It's just one big shame.

I don't think Munchausen's by proxy is allowed as a defence in court. And as it's not strictly speaking a psychiatric disorder she'd probably be unlikely to be sent to a psychiatric hospital instead of prison. I remember when I was a student, the psych ward where I was on placement had a Munchausens (where the person makes themselves ill, rather than a child) patient, but when he decided to leave they said he could (despite the fact he would probably harm himself) because it's not considered a psychiatric illness, so they couldn't hold him under the mental health act.

In the U.S., the chances of her being admitted to a psychiatric facility are actually quite possible if a psychiatrist tells a judge of even the suspicion of Munchausen by Proxy.

As far as it being used as a defense, it's been done before. If that is the defense they opt to go with, she will most likely be admitted to a psychiatric facility, and the chances of her regaining even visitation with her children appears to be rather minimal.

There's really no justice....

the whole fact that she may get some time off of her because of the whole "proxy" thing is so dumb! i dont care what you say your problem is. if i wanted attention there are many more ways to get attention than through harming and maybe killing your OWN child. she could make herself sick or something. jesus!

I agree Laura...its just so hard to see it on the news and think "I know her" (well, as much as you can know someone online, which apparently isnt much anymore, huh?)

The thing about Munchausens by Proxy, is that the parent who is doing it usually has a fascination with and/or expansive medical knowledge... that's one of the chracteristics. Emily was definitely very knowledgeable... it was just this semester she was in college, but had to drop out a few weeks ago because of all of Dakota's health problems. And obvi she still had to be out of her head, because even for being knowledgeable, Emily would know that fecal matter could be identified due to its uniqueness (evidently from updated news articles, the hospital has been suspicious of her for a period of time now).

OMG this is so crazy and awful! I used to read her when her oldest was a baby and you never would've suspected. But this goes to show you that people write what they want in their diary and paint pictures of themselves that could be different from the truth. I really hope she loses her children, she doesn't deserve them for doing something like this.

I've never read her personally, I don't think. It's weird that the daughter is named Dakota, which is also the name of my oldest son.

Anyone that does that is a sick, twisted piece of shit, no pun intended, and deserves to be buried alive. ANYONE that harms a child in such a manner deserves the harshest punishment the mind can come up with.

It's crazy at my son Austin's 1st birthday and my daughters 4th birthday party emily came down with julian and madison. I MET her and the two older kids. She seemed fine to me at the time. I'd talked her into coming because another blooper was coming at that time and we were all sort of friends at that time I guess you could say. I am still unsure of how I feel about this and it would be nice to get her actual story, I mean I realize its on video and there is no way she can deny what she did, but I would like to know why and for how long, I don't think any child should be forced to go through anything that sweet little girl had been through. I remember when Julian was born how much attention she got and how everyone had cood over how adorable he was and then she got pregnant again and had Dakota another sweet little angel she got tons of attention, I remember feeling so bad because she was so sick and she was in the NICU for what seemed like forever and then she finally got to take her home. I jess. I am still in shock really I am .... ----- I don't talk to her due to a huge fall out between her and the other bloopers, but that doesn't make me feel any less for the kids involved.

i always wondered WHY she would keep trying to have more kids after even with madison was born she had trouble with her because she was so skinny and had pregnancy problems and here she was doing it twice all over again knowing she would have pregnancy problems. that was one thing i didnt like about her before all of this. but that is all. otherwise all around i THOUGHT she was a good mom.

I always wondered the SAME THING! That's why I kinda stopped reading her, it was so sad to read.

seriously i wouldnt want to chance the risk of possibly loosing a child just because i wanted another one. her risks were so high of having a miscarriage/ premature baby...and she allready knew of that before even getting pregnant with julian or dakota.
