We have Tim Hortons in the UK. Not proper ones thoug, just self serve as part of some Spar stores. They do the donuts though. I was so happy when I discovered one near where I live. I love Tim Hortons donuts. Now if they'd only start doing the iced cappucinos and the Tim bits or whatever they're called.

Also, on the subject of food... the Australians have the best biscuit ever... the Tim Tam!

They were sold for a while in the UK, but never really took off, so not anymore. :(

Why does nobody wear helmets on motor bikes/scooters in Florida?

Haven't they allowed sikhs to not wear helmets in this country, because of the turbans? It's so stupid - putting your religion over your life. Because with riding a motorcycle it's not a question of IF you will fall off, but WHEN.
But hey, I'm all for freedom like that. If you have a death wish, go ahead! ;D

Ahh good. Although I did see two sikh teenagers in B'ham a few weeks ago with no helmets! They were also wearing what appeared to be Halloween masks. I was pretty freaked out!

LOL, people are morons, especially in touristy areas. I was at the beach this month, and people were also riding without helmets there, even though they don't do that where I live- I think they are too lazy to take the helmet when they are coming from the beach.

I am pretty sure that is illegal to ride without one.

Insurance doesn't exactly provide one with a new head.

I think that depends on your state. In my state it is illegal to ride without a helmet, however when Josh and I went to South Carolina, there was a sign stating there were no helmet laws in that state, which I find odd!

The south is like a different country compared to the rest of America. I hope you're not basing all of your judgments of us based on them, that would be very sad lol.

Seriously? We're not that bad. The suburb in Alabama I live in is virtually the same as the suburb in Ohio my husband's family is from. The only difference is they have GoldStar and Skyline chili and we serve more sweet
iced tea. :-P

I think the problem isn't that Ryan is in the south-it's that he in a tourist city. Those are never proper representations of a country because they aren't typical. :-P

That's not very nice! I hate the whole "southern" stereotype. My hometown is a small town in Georgia, but there is an absolute abundance of cultures and it's overrun with talented people, from artists to musicians to scholars. Sure, there are people who drive big redneck trucks, but in my experience I've seen that in every single state I've visited and I have been all over the states.

I think your town is probably the exception, and not the rule. I have been to the south a couple times, and a lot of people are rednecks, and very set in their ways.

lol, people are rednecks and set in their ways everywhere.
We're not like a separate country-but you wouldn't know that, because you've only been "a couple times", I guess.
Your original comment is rather condescending, though I realize you meant it as a joke.

I lived in Jersey for a while, and there were a LOT of red necks there. My friends and I used to steal their Star Spangled Banners from their front yards for fun. I collected seven in one night once! ;D

I've never been to the southern states, but I don't really think it's fair for you to come to such a conclusion after visiting twice! The 'southern states' covers a huge area... you've clearly not even seen most of it, so how can you make such an assumption?

I really can't, but the first comment I made was joking and people got so upset about it, so I figured I would rile them up a bit more. I guess it worked. I've been to the southern states more than twice, and I know a lot of people from the south too.

I was raised in the south (florida...although people tend to say florida is the southern most northern state...haha) but anyways through out my military career i have lived in several southern states. For real the south is just like the north with a few cultural differences that are very minor at that so i dont think you can really say the south is like a different country compared to the north. I think you need to travel more and be a lil bit more open minded as America is the melting pot of cultures.

Did you mean to reply to .xoxo?? You replied to me. But I was the one telling her not to make such assumptions! I certainly didn't say the southern states are like a different country.

I've been watching the news, and they are reminding people to put on their seat belts, because apparantly they've JUST passed it as law that you now have to buckle up in your car. BUT all these Floridians have been calling in OUTRAGED at this new law! I laughed for a while, yo!
