Please explain to me what is going on in this picture [it's safe for work]. Are they climbing up a rope? If they are, how are there two or three of them in the same spot? Or, is that steps they are climbing? I'm so confused!

I think they're walking up a moderately steep slope. I see no rope. It's probably quite a substantial slope. That's it, I reckon. xD

Might be an optical illusion or a trick w/ the camera.

It could easily be camera tricks; I've done some stuff that doesn't look anything like what I took but obviously not that complicated. XD

There are two ropes. Can't you see them? You can see the ends around the small group of four people.

Umm, does it really seem that impossible for an artist to create something like that? The possibilities in the wonderous world of art, are absolutely endless. Maybe, the people in the pic are personal friends with the artist? I mean think about it, it's not rocket science. ;)
