You know these forums highly amuse me, I have to watch myself though I am feeling quite naughty and mischievous! And that's not good for me.

MELBOURNE SHOULD BE THE CAPITOL, NOT SYDNEY! :P fuck some sydney fucker wrote this ey? lol. that's why the made canberra so shut the melbourne/sydney people up! i have used tops, ripper, sick, mad, rad, sweet. lol. fuck i say no worries and g'day at work all the freaking time. i know what girt means ;) i also know the second half of our anthem. fairy bread is gross. i scorn if someone's walking bare foot. especially where i live. have fun treading on those needles! sausage rolls and meat pies. fuck yes. Well, my great uncle lives there and he has had really bad experiences, very rude locals and is still considered an outsider and such, so from that I always think, well they seem nice, but if they all were, his family wouldn't of been treated the way they were. I also know eating pumpkin is popular, gross!

People in Queensland are actually very friendly..but take no crap from anyone. i have lived in three states and visited four and pertth and brissy are definately the best...very similar.

There must be a lot of very unfriendly as the entire time he has lived there he has suffered a lot of verbal abuse from locals, he must of been there nearly 40 years now.

Odd, because it is incredibly unusual for people in this state to treat foreigners like that (I should know, I'm a foreigner living in QLD)...
Maybe he's done something to piss them off. |

Does he live in the countryside or a city? I've been made to feel very welcome by everybody here. I've never had anybody say anything negative about my immigration. I gather maybe the more rural folks are a little less accepting but they're less accepting of aussies from the cities too. They just don't like people who aren't local.
It's just like the countryside anywhere else, basically. |

Weird, half my family live in Queensland (Brisbane) and on the three occassions I've been to visit them I've found the locals to be very friendly.

I lived in New Zealand and moved to Australia when I was 12... BEST THING MY PARENTS EVER DID!
The education system, whilst slightly flawed, is excellent and I have a much better education from the schooling I did here, than what I did in NZ. FREE PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM. What more can I say? You seriously cannot go wrong with it. Again, definitely a flawed system... but if I am sick it doesn't matter how much I earn, where I stand on a financial level - there is free, adequate health care. Incentive packages! Things like the first home buyers grants, the baby bonus. Things that make some dreams just a little more attainable. We have hell wicked accents ;) The coast, the outback... everywhere has something unique about it. And of course, the general laid back and easy going nature and lifestyle of people. |
