i need to potty train my 2 year old son because i will be working soon and i don't have a sitter. i'm going to put him in an early education center and they require him to be potty trained.. so with that being said, what's the best/fastest/easiest way to potty train him? i know potty training boys and girls is different. it took a while for my daughter to be fully potty trained...

he is only two and they require him to be potty trained, thats a little weird!!!
but some good things are using rewards, like stickers or whatever if he goes.. and put him on ever 15 minutes or so for a while so he can learn what it feels like to need to go! |

actually, here in california, its common. its school, so he has to. i'm thinking about stickers, putting cherrios or fruit loops in the toilet and putting soap in the toilet so when he pees, he'll make *bubbles*.. i just hope it works!!

I only have a daughter, but I've learned that making a game out of it worked for her. We would but blue food dye in the water & tell her to turn it green. ;D I think the bubbles idea is a good one for a boy, I'll keep that in mind if I ever have one.

I've heard that potty training little girls is easier than boys. (Although I've only ever had experience with my nephews, and I thought they were pretty easy.)
What always worked for them was telling them that if they learned how to go potty then they could pee outside like their dad when we go camping. They thought that was just the most fantastic thing ever. Then of course the toy rewards, and ice cream. Things like that. I totally love your bubble idea, that's really clever! |

as odd as it sounds, taking the puppy outside to go potty has given my son (a little over 2) interest in his potty. I guess he figures that even the dog has a place to go potty so he should too? lol Also since Corki gets a treat every time he goes outside, Gage gets some mini M&Ms every time he goes potty.

we started doing the mini m&ms a while back but it didn't work. he was just not interested in them. i got a weird kid! lol
