I've never been propsed to.

One day my dad came home from work and my mom told him that the courthouse had an opening on Valentine's Day and she wanted to get married--so they got married lol. Yeah, she knew how to get things done ;-D. They've been married for 17 years now and together for 23 years altogether.

My now-husband and I used to go on these super-long drives around the island, complete with loud music we would sing along to and, of course, snacks! The view for the drive is gorgeous, since the road is right next to the ocean and we would stop at random places we happened to see, restaurants and little stores. Well, on one of these drives, we made it up to the northern "point" of the island, which has a gorgeous view. He pulled at my hand, I turned to look at him, and there he was on bended knee, the box open and he simply asked "will you marry me?" I think I said yes, (I truly don't remember), but he slipped the ring on my finger, so I must have!

My ex-fiance proposed to me on the floor of a hotel room just before we had to leave for a Marilyn Manson concert, haha.

We'd een together for a year and I knew a proposal was coming up because I picked out my own ring, anyway on our anniversary I just wanted to stay home and spend time with him and he wanted to go out, then he starts an argument saying he was going to propose at my favourite place but now he doesn't know what he wants, I ran outside crying and sat in my car, and he comes out, gets on one knee and proposes. How romantic lol!!!

my husband proposed while we were on a horse and carriage ride going past the park that i grew up at. he said " well babe i know you hate surprises but i want you to know that these last 2 years have been the best of my life and i want the rest of my life to be just as good with you in it. " he pulled the ring out and asked. :)

Me and Freddie had been dating for a few months when we realized that we would get married at some point. It felt just right!! He even said that by the time we make our 1 yr anniversary I would be surprised if we are already engaged. I was hoping he'd be right. Well I had gone up to his house one weekend to spend time with him and he had been asking me for a few months what kind of ring I liked so I had been giving him ideas and he was like I think I'd rather let you pick it out because I want it to be exactly what you want. By this time we had been together for 8 months. So we went to the mall to just look at rings. The first store we went to I feel in love with the ring, we looked at a couple of other stores and then went back to buy it. So now I knew it was coming it was just a matter of when. I got to see the ring when he got it in from being sized. So then it was a waiting game for me. We were at my house before church and I was folding clothes and started to take some to my room and I was like just a minute so I went back in there and he was like come here which i was right next to him on the couch. Then he got up and pulled me up off the couch and into the middle of the living room and got down on one knee and said "Would you make me the happiest man in the world by being my wife?" By this time I was already bawling and all I could do was nodd my head. This was November 2 and he got the ring back like October 17 or something. He said he had thought about doing it on Christms with my family but he said he couldn't wait that long. OH and he even went and talked to my parents and asked their permission first

Aww, not many guys do the whole asking permission thing anymore. My husband asked for my Mom's permission (single parent) as well ;).

My mom is making Justin ask for permission first lol. She has always said my future husband has to ask her for permission. I love the idea and love that Josh asked your mom :).

I've always wondered what a guy does when the parents say no! Lol. Do they say "thanks for the input, but I'm asking anyway"? Or do they just.. not ask?

After Matt and I got engaged we went out to dinner with my dad and he said "you know, you never asked for my permission" hahahaha. Poor Matthew.

Adam asked my parents & my aunt/uncle (they are like 2nd parents to me, lol). Well, he asked AFTER he bought the ring & had it all planned out, but he still asked! lol.

there was no formal proposal with us. It was just kind of a mutual agreement.
"we're getting married in April 7th 09 okay?"

Well me and andy got into a massive fight, we'd only been together about 6 months and i told him that i was leaving because of what had happened and he got really really upset and said that he loved me more than anything and as i was about to leave he grabbed my hand, asked me to marry him because he knew we were meant to be together then kissed me, no ring just a massive fight lol. I said yes but I said that didnt count because there was no ring involved lol. Then 2 months later he got me my engagement ring and asked me again when we were laid on my bed together and i said yes obviously lol.

My husband asked me to marry him in front of 120 people. I couldn't say no..hahaha

o0o0o can u give us details this sounds like its a nice story to hear/tell.

Allen & I had talked about getting engaged for awhile,yet I told him I didn't want to know when it would happen since my last marriage just kinda happened,i wanted it to be special.
Well,we were laying in bed one night,cuddling and talking.Then it got quite,i figured he was falling alseep.He said,"Baby,will you marry me?"I was in such shock,I couldn't even answer him.I started crying,rolled over to hug him and eventually said yes.We went and picked out my ring together the next day,since he knows im a picky one.
It may have not been like in the movies, but that'll be a moment I'll charish forever.
After I said yes, we made love...awww. lol

Oh and our wedding date is June 6th 2009..YAY!

I also forgot to mention that he did ask for my parents approval first....I didnt even know about it! lol
