1. Hmmm... I would say my eyes. In terms of non-face things, my tummy/waist.
2. Stupid unbudgable saddle bags. xD My bum is okay - I like having a bum that sticks out, even if it makes fitting into certain jeans difficult. xD But my legs, there is too much there! xD It's so annoying because I will buy a pair of jeans that will fit my legs perfectly up until my thighs/bum, and then be too small around the waist, so even if I manage to uncomfortably squeeze into them, there's usually a massive gap at the very top of the jeans, where the belt goes. Wow, these next two are loaded questions! I must sit and think for a while. xD 3. I think, the fact that, when I set my mind to something, it gets done, to the absolute best of my ability. I won't do a half-assed job, and I take pride in my work. Also the fact that I learn new things relatively quickly and recognise patterns easily and enjoy learning (often for the sake of it!). 4. I get tired really easily. But that's probably related to my course/stress/lack of motivation. And I'm afraid to take risks, and I stress a lot, particularly right before bed. Like, even about the smallest things. And I know just from talking to other people that I am much more cautious/anxious than the average person. But I am improving! 5. Goodness! I would be rid of the anxiety, especially right before bed. I readily recognise that worrying does me no favours but I do it anyway, and it makes me feel quite lacklustre during the day. |

Gosh, how are they loaded questions? I thought they were pretty open questions - like, surely a loaded question would be something like 'What part of your ugly fat bottom do you hate most?' ;D
I totally used to have that problem with jeans back in the day - like, I think that is a common problem if you're skinny with a tiny waist, to have a huge gap between the jeans and your waist, because jeans aren't stretchy like leggings. I once watched a TV show where skinny women were trying on jeans in different shops to see if there was any shop where the jeans didn't do that, and practically all of them did! Hipsters were totally the best kinds of jeans for this problem, because they aren't designed to go round the waist. But gosh, it's been a few years since they were in fashion! |

lol, I meant 'loaded' as in like, really deep and meaningful, as opposed to 'what is your favourite thing to spread on toast?' kind of question. xD But I guess that's because I didn't take a weight/fat/looks approach to questions 3 and 4 the way most people have done.
And yes, sorry, I do mean hipsters. (I haven't worn high-waisted jeans in... probably 15 years. xD) Even with hipsters I get a bit of bagginess around the top, so when I sit down the back moves down a bit too far! xD |
Estella Post Count: 1779 |
Ah, 'loaded question' means something different in the UK. And actually, I totally assumed most people would answer 3 and 4 like you've done - like, to me, the most important aspects of oneself are not in the looks. There are far more important bits to value and change than one's bottom! ;D
Wasn't that the point of hipsters, though, that they were supposed to move down and show your knickers when you bent over? Like, in the UK at least, that was part of the trend. You were supposed to wear a thong with them. Or a long top, as I did, if you weren't into thongs! ;D Haha - I just googled to see if I could come up with an example, and can only find this really extreme example: |

1. What's your favourite body part on yourself? MY EYES. OR ELSE, MY UPPER PARTS.
2. What's your least favourite body part on yourself? MY STOMACH. 3. What do like most about yourself? MY ATTITUDE. 4. What do dislike most about yourself? MY WEIGHT. EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT "FAT", I STILL AM NOT SKINNY. 5. If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about yourself (could be a physical trait, a psychological trait, a character trait, a disability - anything), what would you choose to change and why? I WOULD WAVE MY WAND AND MAKE MYSELF HAVE THE PERFECT BODY. NO FAT, TONED, ETC. THEN I WOULDN'T HAVE ANY INSECURITIES AND I WOULD HAVE MORE SELF CONFIDENCE. |
Estella Post Count: 1779 |
Gosh, does your self-esteem come totally from your body? I can't imagine a person losing all their insecurities just from having a perfect body.
|
canceroustears Post Count: 210 |
It's because of where I grew up. Everyone was so transfixed on their bodies, and guys would only care about the kind of body a woman had - they wanted the petite, short girls. And I was the opposite of that. I've learned how to work with it since I moved from there. But for years, I thought that guys only cared about body types and getting the anorexic women. And I still kind of feel that way and gave up, so now I just take whatever comes my way and have been concentrating on working.

@canceroustears - but do you really not have any other insecurities based on other things, unrelated to looks, or are you totally secure in all other areas of your life? Like, most people seem to have a variety of insecurities based on different things. If I had a perfect body, I'd still have some insecurities - probably exactly the same ones I have now, with the exception of the 'OMG I'm so bloated I look preggers' and the 'OMG lumpy cankles!' ones! ;D

I like my hands. 2. What's your least favourite body part on yourself? Hmmm... I'm happy with most everything but if I had to choose I would say my legs. 3. What do like most about yourself? I stand up for myself. Attitude, I suppose. 4. What do dislike most about yourself? I see the worst in everything. 5. If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about yourself (could be a physical trait, a psychological trait, a character trait, a disability - anything), what would you choose to change and why? It would be nice to not burst into tears over commercials ;-D |

@like.a.drug - IDK I think it could *sort* of be seen as a plus that you see the worst in things... I mean, if you notice the worst case scenario, and you're always prepared, that could be a good thing...

1. What's your favourite body part on yourself?
It totally used to be my boobs, but having two kids means they aren't quite as... buoyant... as they used to be! :-D! I guess I'll go with... my hair. 2. What's your least favourite body part on yourself? Pretty much everything else. 3. What do like most about yourself? I like the "mum" aspect of myself... and I guess my attitude to life/work/money... that kinda stuff. 4. What do dislike most about yourself? I'm forgetful and fat. Which is a lethal combination because I often forget that I'm on a diet and then only remember half way through a big mac... 5. If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about yourself (could be a physical trait, a psychological trait, a character trait, a disability - anything), what would you choose to change and why? I'd like a speedier metabolism and more will power. |

If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about yourself (could be a physical trait, a psychological trait, a character trait, a disability - anything), what would you choose to change and why? to have a better personality. i tend to jump off at people all the time. I need better self control. |
canceroustears Post Count: 210 |
@LADY PUCK - I'm totally secure in everything else. I really can't think of anything I'd change except my stomach. I guess I'm just used to the way I am, and wouldn't really want to change anything personality wise. lol - lumpy cankles.

Gosh - I am having difficulty getting my head round this. If your security is so dependent on your looks, doesn't that suggest an insecurity that goes deeper than looks? Like, if you were really totally secure in yourself as a person, surely looks would become irrelevant? Or maybe we have different understandings of the word 'insecurity'?
|
canceroustears Post Count: 210 |
@LADY PUCK Maybe! My insecurity is mainly about my looks and people not accepting me for who I am because of the way I look.
To have a conversation with someone, they have to approve of your looks, before they can get to know your personality. [At least that's what I think] I'm not sure what my insecurity would be - besides not being secure with how I look. Oi vey. I don't think this helped. Lol. I think I just confused myself. |

1. What's your favourite body part on yourself? My boobs or my hands.
2. What's your least favourite body part on yourself? Probably my tummy... 2 babies in 2 years makes my tummy a scary looking thing. Or my thighs... they be huuuuuge. Or feet. But I have feet in general. 3. What do like most about yourself? My straight to the point, honest personality. What you see is what you get. 4. What do dislike most about yourself? My lack of motivation 5. If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about yourself (could be a physical trait, a psychological trait, a character trait, a disability - anything), what would you choose to change and why? I want more patience, and to be a lot more calm and accepting of things. So probably change that. |

2. What's your least favourite body part on yourself? MY STOMACH. (BOOBS ARE CLOSE SECOND) 3. What do like most about yourself? THAT I AM NICE TO PEOPLE SOMETIMES? 4. What do dislike most about yourself? UGH. SO MANY CHOICES, BUT I'M GONNA SAY LACK OF CONFIDENCE/SELF-ESTEEM 5. If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about yourself (could be a physical trait, a psychological trait, a character trait, a disability - anything), what would you choose to change and why? I WOULD BECOME ATTRACTIVE. AND IF I HAVE TO PICK ONE THING ABOUT MY LOOKS, I WOULD CHOOSE TO BE AT A HEALTHY BODY WEIGHT (LOSE ABOUT 50+ POUNDS) |

1. What's your favourite body part on yourself? my eyes, I suppose..
2. What's your least favourite body part on yourself? my nose. It's huge. haha I can't honestly say my stomach because..I've had children. Big deal. Life happens. Even if I become thinner, I still can't erase those stretch marks entirely so who cares? I don't. 3. What do like most about yourself? my stubborn nature-only because it happens to be paired with optimism 4. What do dislike most about yourself? my difficulty apologizing sincerely, even when I know it's necessary 5. If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about yourself (could be a physical trait, a psychological trait, a character trait, a disability - anything), what would you choose to change and why? I wish I were brave enough to sing for my husband. He would love to hear me sing, I spent years in choir, but I have complex about it because my dad used to tease me about singing randomly, and now..I can't do it. For anyone. Only when I'm alone. Seems silly, but that's what I would change. Nothing about my body physically because I don't really care how others view me. I'm okay being me the way I am, for the most part, but that one thing..I think it bothers him...and me because of it. |

1. What's your favourite body part on yourself?
My eyes. I adore them. 2. What's your least favourite body part on yourself? My legs. I hide in pants year round despite the hothothot summer weather. 3. What do like most about yourself? I like to be organised. You wouldn't know it by looking at my home, though. ha 4. What do dislike most about yourself? That nagging voice in my head telling me that I'm not beautiful. 5. If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about yourself (could be a physical trait, a psychological trait, a character trait, a disability - anything), what would you choose to change and why? Hyperhidrosis. I sweat a lot and it causes a lot of social problems. Not to mention the fact that I can't walk ANYWHERE without getting overheated and sweaty like I've just done the workout of my life. :C |
