I'm excited because I'm participating in Nanowrimo this year. I haven't done it since 2007! Is anyone else participating? If so, friend me. I'm GretaGarbage there. Also, is anyone manning the NoJoMo diary this year? It starts on Thursday, same as Nanowrimo and I wanted to participate in that as well.

I'm hoping to do NaNoWriMo this year! It'll be tough with school and all but hopefully I'll manage. :)

I'm thinking of doing it. I haven't joined the site though. I didn't know you could friend people on the site - years ago when I set out to do it (and didn't finish!) there were groups to join, of people local to you, so you could organise meet-ups. I'm guessing it's quite different now.
|
@bad penny, I haven't done it since 2007 and it all looks so different but yeah I think you can create friendships there.

Gosh - just took a look, and yes, it's totally different. I think the last time I did it was around 2002 or 2003! Time flies!

I'm thinking of doing NoJoMo, just to try and get myself back into writing again. Whether I'll last (or even start) is another thing altogether though.

I'd be interested in doing NoJoMo, if someone is manning the diary. Getting awfully close to November!

Surely you don't need anyone to man it. You just write a journal entry every day, and then you've done NoJoMo.

I would try to participate in NoJoMo, but I need writing prompts!! Is anyone going to be doing the diary this year?
|
writing prompts help but no we don't need them, bad penny. For someone like me who doesn't write everyday, I sometimes don't have anything to say so writing prompts give me something to write about. I'll probably use NanoWrimo to do NOJOMO lol

NoJoMo Prompts Post Count: 1 |
As the previous NoJoMo diary appears to have been discontinued, I have started a new one for prompts. I will post several prompts a day. Feel free to message me with prompt ideas. If the old NoJoMo diary is resurrected, then I guess we have double sets of prompts! Or we could combine. Either way, prompts will be provided.

I have a llot going on in my life offline, but I will try to update the NoMoJo on the main page of Bloop this weekend. Can someone please comment me the new diary doing it? Thanks!

I'm now doing NoJoMo, but my entries are on FO. Shoot me a comment if you want to be added to my list. :)

I feel stupid, but what is NaNoWriMo? I've only heard of NoJoMo, this is the first I've ever heard of NaNoWriMo.

National Novel Writing Month.
I actually believe it was around before NoJoMo (or at least I'd heard of NaNoWriMo first) http://www.nanowrimo.org/ |
Hello Kitty already answered you but yeah...it stands for National Novel Writing Month and the goal is to just write and make it to 50,000 words by November 30th.

Yep, I think NaNoWriMo was the first of such things, and from there NoJoMo, OctPhoMo, etc. have been created. I was thinking the other day I'm curious where NoJoMo originated - maybe OD or LJ?
At one point, I remember a spin-off was created where people wanted to write a novel in a week - and apparently a few keeners succeeded in this! I don't think that's become a regular event though. |
