Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.
She was 32. A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ. We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word." She was my favorite actress! Fuck all the rumors about drugs & eating disorders, the bottom line is a young talented woman is dead entirely way too young. RIP Brittany Murphy!

She had to be unhealthy for her to have a full blown cardiac arrest at 32. I feel bad for her family and husband though.

check it. tmz is reporting that her hubby doesn't want an autopsy... too bad that CA requires an autopsy.

Whilst I find it sad ...in perspective..a car accident here two weeks ago killed a 24 year old woman, her four month old baby, her husband and his two sisters.
All death is sad. Its wrong that some peoples is perceived to be more of a loss. |

I think she was anorexic.... and if you gain and lose alot of weight, it really messes up your heart because its working so much to keep up with the gain and loss..... i hope it wasnt coke. that was my first thought but now i think its eatting disorder. her most recent picture she looked sooo skinny, and that her head was so huge that she was going to tip over or something.... im a skinny girl. im 5'8 and finally hit 110 lbs and i think she is skinnier than i am. sad that skinny is "in" and all these girls, no matter what age feel the need to do whatever, i.e. anorxia or bulimia.... to get and stay skinny. i think she was beautiful the way she was. sad she might not have thought the same thing. :-(

Wow. This really surprised me.
Her mother said she struggled with Type 1 diabetes, and over time high blood sugar levels can cause a hardening of the arteries, which can result in heart attack or stroke. So it very well may not have been drugs OR an eating disorder. It's possible, sure, but it could have been something else entirely. Anorexia or drugs are NOT the ONLY possibility here. |

9 times out of 10...Someone with Type 1 diabetes will die of Renal Failure...NOT heart disease.
My money is on Drugs.... |

I don't think that's true.
According to http://www.rssdi.org/1994_oct-dec/mortality2.pdf: Causes of death in Type 1 diabetics: DKA 30% Infections 25 - 30% Renal failure 30 - 35% (hardly 9/10 :P) But yes, coronary artery disease is more likely in type 2 diabetics (where it causes 40% of deaths) |

that's actually good to know. My fiancee died 3 years ago from renal failure due to type 1. Her doctor said 90% of type 1 people end up dying either of kidney failure or insulin misuse. Glad to know he was wrong. It's a pretty scary fact if he was right.

At her age, death from coronary artery disease, even if she was diabetic is extremely unlikely. Still, if she was diabetic she could have died from diabetic ketoacidosis (unlikely though from the story I read which said it was a sudden collapse), particularly if she DID have an eating disorder and allowed her sugars to run high by skipping insulin. Still, from what I've read it doesn't sound like she went into a diabetic coma, it sounds more sudden.
A cardiac arrest due to an eating disorder is entirely possible, if she did in fact have an eating disorder (I have no idea if she did or not). Drugs also entirely possible. Or she could simple have had a genetic heart condition which she was completely unaware of. It is also possible she had a brain haemorrhage or something similar, which also causes a sudden collapse. There are many possibilities and we won't know until the coroner produces their report. |

I meant to also say, this is very sad. She was very young and it's tragic that yet another young celebrity has died this year.
