So I started an Ebay account yesterday and decided to sell my phone. I plainly put on the description of the item that I did not ship outside the US. So guess what happens? Someone from the Netherlands has bought my item. They haven't paid for it yet & I haven't sent them an invoice..but I put my shipping cost as $10. I used the shipping calculator and it is going to cost almost $90 to ship to them. What do I do? Do I decline the bid? And if I do will I still owe Ebay for posting my item? Or do I contact him about the extra shipping charges for outside the US?

I don't even think they can use a US Cellphone in the Netherlands. They're probably going to try and resell it.
You could try saying that if you want him to ship it there, then he'll have to pay the extra shipping cost, otherwise you're going to re-list it and sell it to someone in the US, as your ad states that you'll only ship to someone in the US. It's his own fault he can't read an AD. :P |

So I logged on to my email to see that I had an email supposedly from paypal stating my buyer had made payment. Well I contacted paypal via phone & they didn't send me the email. It's a scam. How do I report it to Ebay? I've obviously reported it to Paypal but not to Ebay. And also I want to list the item again. Will I still have to pay for the first time I listed the item even though it was scam? Ebay has no customer service. I'm so upset right now. This is ridiculous.

Uhm...Ebay definitely has customer service. I've called them before for my dad.
Up at the very top right of the Ebay website, there's a link that says 'contact us' you go through there for the number you need. |

@Makayla: Are you serious? Ebay has customer service links all over the place. Did you sign up and add your Paypal account to Ebay without looking at the site?

@Jessica & Anonymous Source: Yes, I have contacted them by phone but it is just an automated service that tells you to use the Live Support on the website. I've also waited over an hour to chat with a customer service rep who just told me the buyer would be reported, then when I asked about what fees I would be responsible for over the fraudulent transaction he said he would have to put me in contact with a specialist & I have currently been waiting on chat for like an hour & a half for him to log in. I've gotten some help from of the experienced sellers in the forums & one of them has walked me through the processes I need to go through to cancel it. It looks as if I'll be out the listing & re-listing fees which add up to be around $7. Much better than the final value fees of $50.

@Makayla: You understand that the CS rep is going to tell you to open a case right?

@Anonymous Source: Yea I've pretty much given up on talking to the CS rep. I think I'm on the right track now with help from the other members. I opened a case & canceled the transaction. The members in the discussion boards might as well be paid to be CS reps instead of the ones you wait hours for just to hear you need to talk to someone else. Ugh it's frustrating.

And just so you know I think you've ruined Spongebob for my 3 yr old. She freaked out when she saw your user profile picture of Squidward looking possessed. lol

It should NOT cost you 90 to ship something to the Netherlands. Use a flat-rate box. *lol*
I ship packages outside the US all the time, and it very rarely costs me over $10 |
