What is your favorite style/genre of music & why?
Rock, specifically classic rock. Easy to memorize both the tune and the lyrics. Cryptic and interesting, often. Who are your favorite musicians/music artists & why? I love a lot of Canadian music (being Canadian myself, that's a given). Econoline Crush (alt/industrial) is my ultimate favourite, though I could never tell you exactly why. Their songs have always caught my ear, anything from the most otherworldly and depressing tune to the most upbeat. Other Canadian bands, like The Tragically Hip (rock/contemporary rock), often make references to specific towns or times and their lyrics are very descriptive, pulling you in and making you feel like you were right there with them. Do you connect your personal choices of music (or songs, to be more specific) with certain emotions that you feel while listening to them (in other words: does the music you listen to influence your moods, and if so, explain)? Listening to '90's rock/alt always makes me miss highschool - a seemingly much simpler time than now. Oddly, nostalgia makes me very happy, so I still listen to a lot of the same bands I did back then. Darkwave/industrial electronic etc makes me daydream of post apocalyptic dystopias, and I love getting lost in those. And the classic rock makes me wish I could've been alive for the era, just to experience the legends first-hand. *SPECIFICS FOR STATISTICS* I am going to list a variety of different styles/genres of music below, and I am asking that if you choose to participate, list 2 emotions that are brought out of you when you listen to songs in these categories. 1. I have to say my favorite is classic rock also. It just seems genuine to me. soulful and more meaningful than a lot of modern music. I think that music was meant to change your mood in some way and every type of music can make me feel a different way. For me, there are a lot of memories that I love to connect to certain songs. In the summer, I love reggae because it reminds me of the beach and my two favorite bands are Sublime, and The Beatles. Sublime reminds me of summer in my teen years and it can cheer me up no matter what. The Beatles have some great original lyrics that I love and there is a Beatles song for every mood.

Musical theatre and gothic/symphonic metal, because they make me feel alive and the greatest. I love a whole variety of music in general. Life would be dead without it. Who are your favorite musicians/music artists & why? My favourite singer is Emilie Autumn. I love her versatile style in music and uniqueness. Another favourite singer is Sarah Jezebel Deva. What a powerful and amazing voice. Some of my favourite bands are Dreams of Sanity, The Rasmus, Voltaire, Nightwish, Cradle of Filth, etc.. I have always liked them, and they are mentally good for me. Also, they give me nostalgia as I discovered them when I was in school, and listening brings back memories. Makes me happy. There is something contagious about The Rasmus; also to mention that my brother introduced me to them a very long time ago. My favourite musical is Phantom of the Opera- it is what brought in my passion for musical theatre and got me into the performing arts. I have seen it 20 times on stage! I do not think I would have done all my acting without it. My other favourite musicals are Wicked, of course, and Notre-Dame de Paris. There are so many other musicians and bands that I love, but here is just to name a few. Do you connect your personal choices of music (or songs, to be more specific) with certain emotions that you feel while listening to them (in other words: does the music you listen to influence your moods, and if so, explain)? That tends to happen. Like, if I start listening to an emotional song, I relate to it, and when the playlist changes to, say, an aggressive hardcore style, then my emotions tend to change suddenly. I guess I just get carried away? *SPECIFICS FOR STATISTICS* I am going to list a variety of different styles/genres of music below, and I am asking that if you choose to participate, list 2 emotions that are brought out of you when you listen to songs in these categories. 1. Country, but I listen to a little of everything. I like country for various reasons: I love southern accents, I love the twang of the guitars, the singers look damn good in boots and cowboy hats, they sing about topics you can relate to, and they don't have to swear and act like idiots to get their point across (not that I mind swearing, it's just that some musicians try way too hard). I am not a huge fan of the new country 'party song' phase, however, where every single new song is talking about partying in the woods or on 'back roads' with hot girls and alcohol, describing in great detail just how "country" doing these things makes them. They have a rap genre for that, damnit! Who are your favorite musicians/music artists & why? Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly. I know they aren't country so this may seem a little out of place, but they've always been my favorite. First of all, I adore all things Irish, so they're a shoe in. Secondly, they have a way with words and all of their lyrics have a deeper meaning, which I like, not to mention they remake old Irish folk songs (which is awesome!) Do you connect your personal choices of music (or songs, to be more specific) with certain emotions that you feel while listening to them (in other words: does the music you listen to influence your moods, and if so, explain)? My music doesn't really effect my moods (or vice versa) per se, but sometimes when I'm feeling a specific emotion, a certain song will pop into my head and I'll have to listen to it right away. Like for instance, "Ohne Dich" by Rammstein popped into my head out of the clear blue today (I only listen to like 3 of their songs, and haven't even done that in over a year!) and I had to hear it. It's weird. *SPECIFICS FOR STATISTICS* I am going to list a variety of different styles/genres of music below, and I am asking that if you choose to participate, list 2 emotions that are brought out of you when you listen to songs in these categories. 1.
