Not sure if you guys use this.....
The Swiffer Wetjet THIS IS TRUE &VERIFIED ON SNOPES.COM Recently someone had to have their 5-year old German Shepherd dog put down due To liver failure. The dog was completely healthy until a few weeks ago, so they had a necropsy done to see what the cause was. The liver levels were Unbelievable, as if the dog had ingested poison of some kind. The dog was kept inside, and when he's outside, someone's with him, so the idea of him getting into something unknown was hard to believe. My neighbor started going through all the items in the house. When he got to the Swiffer Wetjet, he noticed, in very tiny print, a warning which Stated "may be harmful to small children and Animals. "He called the company to ask what the contents of the cleaning agent are and was Astounded to find out that antifreeze is one of the ingredients (actually, he Was told it's a compound which is one molecule away from antifreeze.) Therefore, just by the dog walking on the floor cleaned with the solution, then Licking its own paws, it ingested enough of the solution to destroy its liver. Soon after his dog's death, his housekeeper's two cats also died of Live failure. They both used the Swiffer Wetjet for quick cleanups on their Floors. Necropsies weren't done on the cats, so they couldn't file a Lawsuit, but he asked that we spread the word to as many people as possible so they don't lose their animals. This is equally harmful to babies and small children that play on the floor a lot and put their fingers in their mouths a lot. PLEASE, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE BABIES, SMALL CHILDREN OR OWN A PET; PLEASE FORWARD THIS ON! YOU MAY NOT HAVE ANY CHILDREN OR PETS BUT SOME OF YOU HAVE FRIENDS OR FAMILY WITH PETS AND ALSO FAMILIES WITH GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN |

Yeah, sorry, but whomever said it was verified at snopes was wrong. The only verification snopes gives is that it is FALSE.

I have a dog that past away from a wet jet and the floors were dry and everything after she went on them. It can happen and you don't even know it until the end. It is common sense to use safe products when you have children and pets around. There were tests run on my dog after she past away and told that it was from the wet jet. Believe me if you want or don't it is up to you.

In order for the product to be hazardous enough to kill something, it has to be ingested in larger quantities than merely licking a paw that has walked over a wet floor. It has to be in larger quantities than merely licking the floor or a paw will give.

I use to think this was true. It isnt. I use a wet jet on the floors and my dogs are fine and any babies or small children that have been here has been fine. Only way it could be harmful to children or pets is if its ingested.

I was going to say thank you for posting this, since I have two cats (I had a dream last night that I fed one of them to an alligator...talk about horrifying :-/) that I love dearly and also a swiffer wetjet....but yeah, snoops verified that it is FALSE, so maybe read a little closer next time before almost giving me a heart attack, every part of the article minus what was posted on here talks about how it's NOT true. It is common sense to use safe products, and they seem to be saying that the swiffer wet jet is one of them.

Even though this is false, I know that dogs LOVE the taste of anti-freeze, but are unfortunately allergic to it.

When my dog was a puppy, she tore up the carpet, chewed up my mom's makeup bag, my dad's mobile phone, and some library books on puppy training ;D

the best to know if a product is harmful to pets and small children is to read the bottle...not rely on internet sites to tell you. But like other people said...in order for it to be true the dog had to have ingested large quantities of it.
