I'm just curious how an entry on Friends Only made it to RC.

I was reading the newest one on the FP, and wanted to finish reading it, and I get the lovely:
"Sorry, we can't display this page to you.
This diarist only allows a select list of members to view their diary. If you'd like to request to be on this list, click the button below." :(

Wasn't there something in the system before that kept these kinds of entries from being on RC?
It's quite disappointing. :(

Well, what happened was 10 mothers voted a "OMG I'M HAVING MY BABY" entry RC, as if we haven't seen the same entry 607 times before on RC.

Then again, Reader's Choice, they chose it, the rest of us are subjected to it.

More to the topic, yeah I'm thinking the person who voted it RC isn't too bright seeing as it is FO.

Honestly, sometimes I forget that some of my faves are on FO. I mean, I have acess to their diaries, so it doesn't occur to me that not everyone else does as well.

So maybe that's what happened?

Staff always asks before posting, so she knew. But this sort of thing should have been fixed a while ago, as it was part of the "Reader's Choice" terms and conditions nonsense in BloopNews so very long ago.

Actually no... I was on RC not long ago and didn't realise until I started getting an abundance of comments... it appears they no longer ask - just put you on it.

They don't ask anymore. I wasn't asked before my cannabis entry went up as RC.

I wasn't asked before my entry was on RC. I just logged on to see it on the front page. I ended up deleting the entry that made it to RC on my diary.

I thought the same exact thing. You can't have a readers choice and have it set to friends only. That is stupid.

Presumably she will have been asked to take it off of FO, but since she's just had a baby, she hasn't been on here much in the past few days, so I'm guessing she's unaware it's even RC.

me thinks that after the crash that steve hasn't fixed the asking to be on RC and FO entries not being bale to be RC unless they change the settings first. i don't think he'd randomly take away those two things.

Yeah, Christina had her daughter last week, and right before that she had a crappy internet connection. She hasn't been on in several days. I don't think she knew when it was put on there, in order to fix the settings.
