And I'll happily admit I've read them. The fact that I've read them (as painful as it was) is how I know how crap they are. However, I maintained hope right to the end that they'd improve (they didn't), and I wanted to see if she was really daft enough to actually make Bella a vampire in the end (apparently she was).

Buffy and Angel totally did the human-falls-in-love-with-a-vampire thing so much better. It was far more mature, far less creepy, and in the end it couldn't work. Because she had more respect for herself than to give up her life for a vampire. AND life went on without him. Which is what happens in reality. Hearts get broken, people move on, they find someone else. This whole idea that Bella couldn't possibly live a happy life without Edward is pathetic.
