It's been a busy couple of weeks. Fortunately I've been keeping up with my schedule. Err, maybe loosely, but that's OK. Last week was a week of firsts.
I started to run outside at night after my class that gets out at 8. Not as many cars to deal with and it's nice to look up and see stars accompanying me for my jog. It was also the first time I ran a full two miles without stopping. And then a couple days later it was the first time I had run three miles without stopping. I'm a beast.
I think I found my rhythm. Woah, cheese. But it's true. I figured out how fast I can jog along without being out of breath, which in turn keeps my heart rate down to the ideal endurance rate. It's funny how it just takes persistence (and patience).
I also found that I sweat more toward the beginning of the jog (like the first couple miles) and then I keep sweating but not as much. It's like my body is like... oh, I'm not dying. In fact, this is kind of nice.
Today was four miles, but I walked for a bit at the two-mile mark, which I think is just fine.
I haven't been doing really any cross-training, which I know is a no-no, but I've just been so incredibly busy with school. I really need to stop using that excuse because I've got an incredibly light load this semester in comparison to what I could have had. I just need to keep the motivation up.
Hmm, I guess I didn't really have all that much to say in this entry. Just a brief update of how the miles are coming. And they're coming much easier. My legs stay strong until about three miles right now. And I think I need to drink a lot more water throughout the day and not just right before and right after I jog. |
