So if anyone remembers, I recently started volunteering at a local animal shelter, called Animal Friends. I might not always agree with the training policy... but they do wonderful work with rescues and cruelty cases. So I'm sticking with it.
And I already found a new friend. 
He's a medium sized pitbull, chocolate and white. Really sweet boy named Salvadore. I know I'll never get to bring him home... but I can work with him and get him already to go so that he can find a good place to call home.
His last owner kind of left him behind when he moved. Poor little guy 
I'm gonna end up crying over a dog again.
