| Fact: My kid is a hot guy magnet...
My friend Kristy and I just signed up for a gym.
I'm pretty much ready to kick my own ass on the exercise front. Even when the weather was nice, I would look out the window and think ... "Yep... should probly take the baby for a walk... I'm hungry... Do we have any cookies?"
So when Kristy and I went to lunch with her brother, we checked out a gym that was right in the same strip mall area as The Olive Garden.
That in itself made me giggle. Cause I had pretty much just eaten enough carbs for three days, washed it down with two glasses of Dr Pepper, and then split a plate of the evil little doughnuts known as Zeppoli. By the way, yes the doughnuts are amazing. Borderline epic.
Kristy's brother is also very smart.
He played with Elora while Kristy and I hogged most of the chocolate dipping sauce.
Very smart boy
Then Justin wasn't feeling well so after a quick trip to Target (needed a few things, mainly work out clothes), he decided to stay in the car. I took Elora in with me so that she wouldn't freak out. She hates the car seat. Especially when I'm not with her and the car isn't moving.
When we got in there the nice girl at the desk made a fuss over how cute Elora is, and then went to get someone from sales.
Dude was drool worthy. First thing he said? No. It wasn't a polite hello. Or a "How are you?"
"Wow! You have beautiful eyes! ... Oh that's where she gets them!"
Talking about the baby and then looking at me.
Dude was slick lol
Especially since he took us right back and showed us the kids room, making sure to tell me the hours, introduce the two girls working there (at the time) and tell me that they both had emergency first aid training. Not that anything has ever happened there but it still makes me feel better. Cause after all... Elora is MY kid lol
Eventually the gravity anomaly will kick in.
The other thing that had me feeling better was the fact that they looked up at me and both said hello and then went back to keeping an eye on the kids. I could have smacked the one girl at work the other night.
*Random Thought Intrusion*
Our store has one of those little "We'll watch your kids while you shop" deals too.
And one of the watching a couple of kids was just chilling and texting on her phone while one kid was sitting there crying cause another kid snatched the toy he was playing with right out of his hands.
So the fact that they were actually paying attention even though there were like four kids in the room made me feel loads better.
Plus it's only $2 per session when I'd have to take her in.
We signed up as it was the last day of the sale they had going(and also signed up for the discounted 12 week personal trainer sessions), cute guy gave us both the student rate, and signed us up on a family plan, cause he's cool like that
He looked at us and said 'You guys are sisters... right?"
For the record... Kristy and I?
Yeah. We don't look like sisters lol
But we've known each other since I was a little bitty 8th grader.
So... close enough.
I'm happy I've got a gym partner to go with.
It'll make me more likely to get off my ass and do the work.
And if nothing else we can go stare at the cute guy together.
And Now News of the Squish
She's got her sixth tooth cutting though now. Four on the bottom and two on the top.
Still trying to get a picture of them lol
KNow what I did get a picture of?
Her standing herself up in the playpen. All. By. Herself.
"Shhhhhh! Don't tell Mama... I'm planning a jail break!" |
