omg.
i just got home from dinner, with work. my boss is ridiculous. it was brenda's retirement party, tho not really because she's just "semi-retiring" and working at a clinic my boss owns a few days a week.
anyway, our meals, drinks, and even cab rides to and from the restaurant were covered by my boss. we ate here: the david duncan house. i don't even want to imagine glenn's bill. i believe there were 20 of us, at $45/plate for dinner, plus cocktails (i had 2 strawberry daquiris) and wine with dinner (pinot grigio for me), plus dessert. oh man.
this was after glenn bought us lunch today, for someone's last day.
and we're having lunch again next week, for someone's birthday.
we also talked about the christmas party, which is on a friday night at some swank country club. glenn offered that if we all go, he'll close the clinic early on the night of the party, and stay closed the following day so we can all enjoy ourselves and recover. it's also an hour away, and we'll need rides, so a limo is in the works. possibly a hummer limo (as per my outlandish and uncharacteristic suggestion). all on glenn's dollar, of course.
whenever i complain about this job (and i will complain about this job), please remind me of the perks of working for a generous foodie. |
