we had our engagement photos taken yesterday.
it was PERFECT.
we could not have asked for better weather. it was sunny and hot, but not uncomfortably hot, and not at all humid. there was a beautiful breeze. i suppose most importantly for photos, the light was perfect.
we met steve in the distillery district, at 4:00. steve went to my high school, a few grades below me. we were never friends, per se, but i knew the kid. we were on student council together and played reach for the top. so there was definitely a nice familiarity there. that helped to calm my nerves about "omg i feel weird and people will look at me and i haven't posed for a photo since yearbook and blah blah blah". it also helped that there were at least 2 other couples doing photos in the area, as well as a wedding.
i'll spare you the details, but we essentially spent 4.5 hours in 4 locations [distillery district, cherry beach, a bridge on bathurst, and polson pier] and i think steve shot about a million and twelve pictures. the deal is that he'll do some retouching, then upload them all to a website, and we can download them in 3 sizes [small for facebook-type posts, larger for say, a computer background, and huge for professional printing] as well as putting them all on a dvd. they should be available to us online wednesday-ish, and i cannot wait to see them!!
here's the greatest part, tho: even if the photos are terrible [and they won't be... but IF] i don't even care, because i had a wonderful day, and i fell in love with josh all over again. i never expected taking some pictures would be such a great experience, but it was probably one of our top 10 days as a couple. it had been a long time since i'd spent hours looking at his gorgeous green eyes, and giving him soft little kisses all afternoon. it was terribly, adorably, barf-inducingly cute.
between the weather and the overall fun of the day, i wasn't even pissed that we left the last location to discover a $40 parking ticket. shit happens. i was too happy to be mad.
man, i can't wait to see these photos. |
