can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?

i've decided to stay an extra night at my mom's. with no one and nothing waiting for me back in toronto, there's really no point in frustrating myself with traffic today. also, staying means that i get a feast of bbq goodness tonight, as my mother spoils me with steak, nice big shrimp, grilled veggies, potatoes, and likely some grilled peaches for dessert. doesn't matter than i had steak at dad's last night. oh, the life of a bruce county beef girl.
i grilled dinner last night with my youngest brother. that kid kills me. he's so adorable, and so smart. i may be slightly biased, but he's a really bright boy. and apparently foodlove runs in the family. he's 9 and has been "working on barbequeing for a month or two now". he was pretty stoked when i taught him how to make cross-hatched grill marks. that's the newest weapon in his awesome grilling arsenal.
it's pretty sweet when your biggest desicion of the day is whether or not to shower.
after i head back to toronto, i'll have a couple of days in the city, which i'll likely spend a lot of watching shark week. thursday afternoon it's off to london, hopefully with zuber, to see kelly and justin. i'm really really looking forward to this little trip. it'll be amazing to spend a thursday night at molly's, and anything else (like eating sushi, weeping and oogling my way thru charlie st. cloud, or finally piercing my rook or daith) will be gravy.
