mom and i drove thru the blowing snow to shop yesterday. my focus was ikea, where i managed to get everything i still needed for our bathroom makeover (except paint). i was super happy to have my "vision" come together, and find all of the things that i wanted. i even bought all new bathroom linens. within the next few weeks, i swear i'll see this project through.
the drive home wasn't as bad as the drive down, but with roads closed between mom's and my place, i spent the night there. thankfully it worked out that josh was off thursday and friday this week, so he was able to be home with sophie, no problem. i got up this morning and drive straight home. i'd missed my loveys!
not long after i got home, i got a call from the head of diagnostic imaging at the hospital. gotta love bureaucracy... she was calling to give me a heads up that they wanted to call my references (which i gave them at my interview on monday). a few minutes after hanging up with her, i got an email from their HR department with a request for authorization to contact my references. i had to print it, fill in my references, sign it, scan it, and email it back. ugh. if my references check out (and i'm sure they'll all be positive), the next step is a criminal background check. so many hoops to jump through.
on the plus side, the manager of DI did say that even though the hospital orientation only happens at the first of the month, it could be possible to start training within the department in march, then just complete the hospital orientation when they offer it in april.
obviously the job hasn't been offered to me yet, but i think that at this point it's a pretty sure thing. they obviously liked me at my interview or they wouldn't have bothered moving forward with HR and record checks. i know that my references all have good things to say about me. the step after references is a check with the police which i know will come up clear. i'm not celebrating until there is an official offer, but i'm pretty confident nonetheless. |
