my birthday weekend was a success!
josh and i went downtown friday afternoon and met kristen at her hotel.

we went to the eaton centre, met up with jes, and did some shopping. we parted ways with jes, went back to the hotel, and had a few glasses of wine before heading to the game with kristen's sister, dayna. alex and adam (dayna's boyfriend) met us at the game and the 6 of us had a good time. after the game, we went to real sports and had a terrible experience, tho my food was tasty, and i had a delicious birthday shot. we didn't get home till after 2, which is hella late for an old lady like me.
yesterday morning i got to sleep in, then headed down to the dome. my street meat guy gave us free sausages because it was my birthday, and he loves me. at the game, joshua bought me my reyes shirsey! stadium staff came and sang happy birthday to me! my name was on the jumbotron! all so exciting!
unfortunately, after a rally and some extra innings, the jays lost again. after the game we went for dinner at big daddy's. it was delicious! i ordered a 3 course meal (mussels, seafood fettuccine, and the yummiest chocolate peanut butter cupcake) and joshua ordered a couple of small plates (calamari, and garlic baked shrimp), then we both just shared with each other.

turns out that i didn't quite hit my weight loss goal of 20 lbs by my birthday, but i was only off by 1 lb, and i'm really not upset about it. sure, 20 is a nice round number, but there is nothing tobe ashamed of in losing 19 lbs. i've been feeling great, healthier; the number on a scale doesn't measure that, but i've been more comfy in my skin, which i am loving.
i don't think of my body as a "before" or an "after", but a constant work in progress, but sometimes it's nice to visually SEE progress, and i remembered taking a full body shot (which i don't usually do) a while ago. i decided to take another today, and see if i noticed a difference. i'm pretty encouraged by the side-by-side.
[6 weeks makes a difference]
we went to the jays game again this afternoon, and it was the best of the series. the jays won 8-4, but even beyond the win, it was the most entertaining game. good hits, good plays. my lover adam lind managed to walk all 4 at-bats, and scored twice. god damn, i love baseball. |
