i'm going to cop out, and just copy/paste my tumblr entries re: yesterday's photo session.
spoiler alert: it was fanfuckingtastic, and i recommend that every woman do it. if you're already comfortable in your skin, you'll appreciate your body even more. if you don't love your body, well maybe you'll start.

tumblr post #1 - My boudoir photo shoot:
You guys, it was GREAT!
First off, my photographer [www.marlenjames.com] was wonderful. After emailing for months [this took a while to get the cash, time, and guts to do], it was nice to finally meet her. She is adorable and I felt comfortable right away.
I unpacked my tickle trunk, and was really excited when she said we’d be able to take photos in everything I’d brought. I showed her my wedding/anniversary necklace and right away she said “Oh! That one’s just boobs” and I totally agreed.
Then came the fun pampering part! I don’t think I’ve had full makeup done by someone else since high school, and even then it wasn’t a pro makeup artist. She did a sightly smokey eye and hooked me up with false eyelashes [another first!], then kept the cheeks and lips simple. She wouldn’t let me see till she was done, and when I was told to look in the mirror and I looked — and felt — fucking hot!
Picture time! We started “casual” in undies and a tank, then progressed to the corsets, bra, babydoll, then the oh la la topless photos. Everything moved along quickly, and despite a couple of awkward poses [that I hope will translate to good pictures] I felt pretty awesome about the whole thing. It may have helped that I bought that champagne, opened it [like a boss!] in my second outfit, used it as a prop, then kept drinking it.
Marlen commented more than once that I was “very photogenic”. a) I’ve been told this before, and b) I assume she says it a lot, but I was still stoked to hear it. She also commented that I was one of few people that she didn’t have to tell to cross their ankles, or keep their knees together. Does the rest of the world not look at hot chicks on the internet [*cough*tumblr*cough*]?! Just me?
As for posing, I had way less trouble with my face than I feared. It was easy to keep my face relaxed, and hopefully not pull too many blue steel faces. I’m scared in retrospect that I wasn’t sucking in to full capacity, but I think if I’d focussed too hard on that, it would have show in my face/eyes.
Now, all of this praise may slightly premature, as I haven’t seen the photos yet. However, I can say that I felt fucking fantastic taking them. I hope that shows in the end product — which I may get a glimpse at this evening. So, I guess another update may follow.

tumblr post #2 - Best ending!
After we wrapped, I put my street clothes back on, packed all of my lingerie and shoes into a gym bag, and was left with half a bottle of champagne. I had brought it in my gym bag, not thinking about leftovers, so the photographer offered a plastic bag.
So there I was, en route to my friends’, with a bag full of lacy underwear, false lashes, and an open bottle of champagne on the TTC.
