oh, canada!
justin stayed an extra day, and we had quite the time. wild wing is no longer wild wing, which was like entering the twilight zone for me, because it was the same, but different. eerie.
the night tho, that was the winner. we went to a beach, instructed to meet friends at a "party", only to arrive to a drum and bass jam full of dirty hippies. and a black man wearing a thong made of denim. and it was not free, nor alcohol-friendly like we'd been told. so we bailed, found a spot on the beach, and drank wine from the bottle like the classy folk we are. rachel, her josh, their friend marcie and her boyfriend matt eventually joined us, and we were ridiculous, and loud and watched random fireworks.
kelly, darling little legal-in-ontario kelly, drank. a lot. she learned to pee outside, in public places. she was so cute and we took pictures and huddled for warmth and i kept her safe. she didn't like the subway because it was "going the wrong way" (she chose to sit backwards). she didn't want to sit on the bus until the driver announced on the pa "if you're wearing a red sweater, you must sit down" (she complied). she happily ate a freezie, took some advil with lots of water, and crashed when we got home.
thankfully, the young bounce back quickly, and she's spry this morning. this bodes well for our plan to take on downtown for shopping and sushi and eclipse. |
