new car! new car! new car!
our car is in, but they have to put the winter tires on it, and i have to sort out some bullshit with my plates and insurance, so it will be ready for pick up tomorrow afternoon. josh works tho, so i don't think i can actually get it until late saturday afternoon if my mom drives up, or possibly even monday. it's not like i have many places to go, so i don't *need* the car, but i WANT it. it will be awesome to have wheels again, and it's much easier for me to get in and out of an suv than our low-to-the-ground car.
i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we will see what he says there, but i'm guessing that it will be another 2 weeks non-weight-bearing before i can start physio and even think about going back to work.
if that's the case, that i'm off for another 2-4+ weeks, having the second car will be a god send. i can actually spend some time visiting friends (first up is lauren - her house is laid out like mine so i know that i can into it alright, and she won't mock me going up the stairs on my hands and knees like a baby). i might also head to my mom's for another few days, with or without the dog. josh is trying his best to take care of me, but i know it's a pain in the ass sometimes. i'd like to give him a break.
joshua turned 30 the other day. his parents, my mom, and i went in together to buy him a new tv for the basement. it is HUGE. a 60" LED smart tv. i hadn't planned on getting one that big (i was aiming for 55") but i got an incredible deal on it, and now he cannot complain that he wants a bigger tv ever again. at least not in this house. i actually made my way down to the basement last night for the first time since my accident, and holy crap that tv is huge. we watched captain america on it and i was basically blown away. this also means that the tv from downstairs (a 40") will come up to the main floor, and be mounted on the wall so it can be seen from the living room, dining area, and kitchen. why we didn't think to put it in that particular place before is beyond me and makes me feel like a moron. our 32" that was in the living room will be sold, because we're still in agreement on the no tv in the bedroom thing.
man, you guys have no idea how much i wish i could take sophie to the park right now. breaking your ankle sucks, guys. 0/10 do not recommend.
