i just got back from a lovely overnighter in london. i got there just before noon yesterday and met jes and emilia for lunch. we ate a disgusting amount of sushi, like, just obscene. we were all so full we felt sick. not my proudest moment, but it was so damn tasty.
after lunch jes and i went back to her place to hang out, and get me caught up on her love-life drama. we headed over to her borther's place so i could meet her nephew. he was born monday and has so much hair. just the cutest little cute. i just wanted to smell him all day. he had the hiccups, which possesses the entire body of a newborn, and it was just about the cutest thing.
for someone who is so amazing at being in pictures, i'm surprised that this is the best jes could do taking one of me, but here is picture of me holding rylan:

we went to the mall so jes could get a few things, and i could pick up a pair of shoes for stacy's wedding next weekend, so of course i bought stuff in every store we went into. i got a ridiculous deal on body butter at the body shop tho, so it was entirely justified.
i went to the cemetary to say what's up to my grandparents. i miss them, and i like to stop by when i'm in town.
after that little detour, i headed to my friend caitlin's place. we hung out, caught up, drank "boozy wine" (sangria) and waited for the rest of the ladies to come by before we went downtown for stacy's bachelorette. stac and her sister steph showed up, along with a couple other girls and it was so great to see them, mingle, joke, reminisce, and get up to speed on each other's lives. i'm really glad that we had that time to talk, pre-bar.
we headed downtown to an all-request retro bar. i looked like this:

we had a great time! i don't drink a whole lot these days, especially not to the point of drunkeness, but last night i certainly did. drinks and shots and dancing - all the good stuff. that bar has a really diverse crowd, everything from 65 year old couples, to goth girls, to 20 year old bros in abercombie shirts, and everything in between. made for a lot of really great people-watching.
we weren't out terribly late, i think i got back to caitlin's at 1:30. i was super tired, and went to bed right after i ate about a million chips with salsa. i woke up this morning hangover-free, which was pretty great. i got dressed and packed up, waited for caitlin to get up, and took off just before noon. my tummy was in need of filling, and since i didn't feel like fighting father's day brunch types for some eggs benny, i went and got a burrito. good choice. just the yummiest. burritos to not get better than this:

it was cloudy and blah outside, so i decided i might as well just come home. i can't wait to have a shower and just veg out for the rest of the day.
good weekend was good.

oh man, such a good people-watching crowd. my favourite was a white dude with dread, obviously high as fuck, "interpretive dancing" to hits from the 80s.
