josh and i went "urban exploring" today. the weather was sort of strange - foggy as shit, misty/raining, but warm. i wore a tank and a cardigan, and was perfectly dressed.
we took the subway to the entertainment district and walked around for a bit. we walked past the princess of wales theatre, and i got so excited.
as a mother's day gift, i bought my mom and i tickets for the lion king. i wanted to see it when it first came [10 years ago? shit, i'm old] and wasn't able to. mom and i are both looking so forward to it. seeing the marquis made me giddy like a child for a few minutes. fun times.
[me walking on king west]
[freshly dyed hair]
i had some starbucks, then we went to mountain equipment co-op. i love mec. we each bought a new nalgene bottle. mine a nice bright, see-thru lemon-lime colour. josh has been wanting to go to smoke's poutinerie since it opened, so like the wonderful ladyfriend i am, i showed him where it was. he looked like a kid on christmas morning, looking at the menu.
[bacon cheeseburger poutine, with added onions]
[first bite]
in terms of "fast casual dining" [thank you america's next great restaurant for classing up "fast food"] this spot right here is your best bet in toronto.
upstairs is poutine, downstairs is burrito boyz, aka the best burritos in toronto. also, they're massive. omg yum. next person who visits me, is being treated to lunch here. y'all can hold me to that.
after josh mowed that down [i had about 3 bites - diet's mostly going strong] we went to the eaton centre. sadly, that was a bust. way too crowded, and there was nothing there that i was looking for. i knew it would go that way, as i have a pair of shoes and a perfect top pictured in my head, which means they either don't exist, or will be way out of my budget if i find them. triste.
our original plan to see bridesmaids has fallen thru, as i have a headache and a sore throat. i hope it's not me getting sick, tho my nose is starting to feel stuffy too, so that doesn't bode well. oh well, i'm happy to veg tonight and watch ed helms host snl. we'll go to the movies tomorrow afternoon before heading to the grocery store. i'm about to go change my sheets, and sleeping in tomorrow will be so blissful. |
