i seem to have zero motivation to update this thinger lately, even tho things are actually happening in my life.
i had a great weekend at my mom's, starting with a great drive up there friday night. i had the perfect playlist, it was sunny, and i drove with the windows down belting out ridiculous guilty pleasure music the whole way. saturday i managed to get a ridiculous sunburn in a matter of half an hour. i rode shotgun in mom's convertible for 15ish minutes, we had lunch, then drove the 15ish minutes home and lo and behold i turned pink save for the void in the middle of my chest where my seatbelt was. see?

my friend justin and his (now ex)girlfriend broke up on the weekend. to be honest, i never liked her, but i love him and i'm sad that he's hurting. so i bought him a ticket to toronto. i saw him monday, when i went to davisville for the usual monday night ball hockey. the boys went to play while i made a killer dinner, including pre-meal samplies of mini meatball sliders. andrew told me that other than his mother and sister, i'm the most amazing woman he knows. that was sort of adorable. the karaoke gauntlet was thrown down early in the day, but i ended up bailing on that plan as around 9pm i was suddenly so exhausted. i came home while the joshua, justin, and andrew went for cheap pitchers and karaoke. i sort of wish i'd joined them, but i'm so glad i got some sleep.
josh and i booked a trip to kenora. i'm not sure if i've mentioned that, as it came about quite quickly and spontaneously. we fly to winnipeg late next tuesday and will drive a rental car to kenora (likely getting there sometime around 2 am wednesday). i'm staying until saturday afternoon, when i'll drive the rental car back to winnipeg and fly home solo. josh's family will drive him in for his flight back on tuesday. i'm actually really excited to go! partly just to get a break from work and get out of the city, partly to see lindsay, her family, and the people i used to work with at the hospital. apparently "maybe we'll get a drink after work on friday" has turned into "everyone wants to see ange and there's a signup sheet in the department to organize rides and whatnot".
of course, in order to be all "yeah, my life got better when i bailed from here" when i go to kenora, i got my brows done yesterday, and my hair cut today. as per usual, my hair cut led to dinner with lauren. we had taco bell and it was awesome. oh yeah, did i mention that i was completely soaked? because i was. it was POURING rain while i walked from the salon to lauren's station and naturally all 3 of my umbrellas were at home in the closet. i had water dripping off my hair and running into my eyes. it was too ridiculous to bother getting upset about, i just laughed to myself. i likely looked insane.
