things in the nursery are coming along nicely. my mom painted the "feature wall" this weekend, and josh unveiled it [aka took the tape off] today. there is one spot that needs to be fixed, but that's manageable. i had visions of things going a lot worse, to be honest. most importantly, josh and i love the way it looks. definitely worth the effort.
my parents also switched out the light fixture in there, from the cheapie builder boob light, to a slightly blingy drum josh and i bought a couple of months back. i love it. now if only i could swap out every other shitty fixture in this house.
now that the walls are painted, we can start putting together our furniture. i put together my glider chair and ottoman the other day, i'll move it into the nursery after we give the floor a good vacuuming. it is cute, and i think it will look great in the room. then we will assemble the crib and the dresser, which reviews said was a pain in the ass, so here's hoping that we don't lose our cool with it. that will give us the basics; a trip to ikea in early april means we can pick up a couple of other things [bookshelf, lamp, wall shelf, maybe?] and i'm sure we'll get some finishing touches at my baby shower.
