it's friday night and i'm sitting at home making an album of my home improvement pictures on facebook. i am okay with this.
i start work next monday (the 7th) and i'm sort of worried/anxious about how sophie will take it. i mean... she doesn't really have a choice but to deal with it. it's just going to be a big change. i've just heard too many horror stories with dogs that have major separation anxiety. i don't think sophie's at that level, but she's definitely a big suck, and won't like being left alone. *sigh*
i spoke with the charge tech at my hospital today and got my login information for the program/site they use to do their scheduling. i haven't even used it yet, but i think that i'm in love with it. i can see all of my shifts (once they're scheduled), all of the staff, who is working what/when, contact info, shifts available for swap/pick-up, etc. it automatically synchs with my google calander (which is synched to my phone), and the program is also accessible by smartphone. she told me to check back after monday and i should be officially scheduled in the department then.
my last job had the same hours the whole time i was there - mon-fri, 8-4 - so getting used to shift work again is going to be interesting... plus this is my first non-full time position, so my shifts are really going to be all over, whenever/wherever they need me. i have 8-10 weeks of training tho, which will be essentially full time (and i'm assuming almost straight days), so that will be nice and predictable. |
