there's a possibility that i'll be training to do bone mineral density scans. bmd's are not hard [in fact, i used to do them as a student], but having the certification for it will be a great asset for my career. the other up-side to being certified for bmd's [beyond being able to do every type of mrt(r) exam in my department] is that the training takes place in toronto, on the hospital's dime. aka fun weekend with a little work by day, and some friend-time by night, without paying for a flight or hotel. holler!
however, this is all still up in the air, and i've been trying not to get my hopes too high. i was hoping that the good news would be announced at our lunchtime staff meeting today, as "bmd training" was on the agenda. turns out that there are still some seniority/office politics/staffing issues to be worked out, so for the time being our boss is sitting on her plans. please, put some positive thoughts out there into the universe for me?
josh and i saw "i love you, man" tonight. my cheeks hurt from smiling/laughing. i love paul rudd, and love jason segel even more. it was a little awkward/weird/depressing(?) tho, because paul rudd's character certainly had parallels to josh. he saw it too. i wish he had more (guy) friends.
donald sutherland sure is doing a lot of commercial voice-over work these days. |
