yesterday's hot water issue turned out to be a pretty easy fix, tho it cost $120 i wasn't planning to spend. the service call for our hot water heater is free, but the problem wasn't the hot water heater, it was the mixing valve, which of course sits just outside of the hot water heater, and thus in homeowner juristiction. the guy who came out said he could fix it for $120, parts, labour, and taxes in, so i checked with my brother [my go-to handy guy] and he said to go for it. josh was happy to have a nice hot shower when he got home from work.
i am in an infinitely better mood today than i was yesterday. i took a hot shower this morning, then ran some errands. the bar fridge i ordered on the weekend was delivered today, and fits perfectly in the basement. after yesterday's sad attempt at decorating for christmas, today's was far more fun. i love the way everything is coming together. i have ribbon to make a tree topper, and then i think i'm done. i even have gifts wrapped. i should find my dslr and take some nice pictures. it's pathetic, but i'm not even entirely sure where that camera is; i haven't used it since we moved. i want to get some nice shots of our first christmas here, and also have it handy for when sophie comes home. |
