holy wow i was drunk on friday night.
turns out, i felt fabulous saturday morning. thank the universe for that! i left here a little after 11, made some quick stops for gas and such, then i was bound for kitchener. the drive was atrocious! i honestly don't think i could have managed if i'd been hung over. it was raining, and the roads weren't too bad in terms of traction, but the visibility was terrible. i've driven thru snow storms with better visibility. it was a bit of a stressful drive, but i ended up still making pretty good time, and by 1 i was at dee's place [which i found on gut instinct... funny how kitchener is somehow ingrained in my brain, despite not having driven there in nearly a decade, and never having driven in that part of town].
dee and i went shopping at conestoga mall, which i hadn't been to in years. it's all swanked up now. weird. the intention was to buy some basics at old navy, as they are having a stock up sale. turns out this old navy had no basics... what the hell? so strange. but i did manage to buy a cute top, a dress [!!] and 3 adorable pairs of flip flops. elsewhere, i bought 2 pairs of skate shoes [white dc's and teal dvs's], a cute summer scarf, some facecloths, and maybe some other things? for an unplanned shopping trip, i deemed it quite successful.
we went for dinner at a mexican place downtown. it was crowded, and the service was less than impressive, but we weren't in any sort of rush, and it was actually nice to have a leisurely dinner with nice conversation and people-watching. the food was pretty tasty, with excellent guacamole, however my enchiladas didn't quite stack up against my chimichangas in mexicantown a few weeks ago. after dinner [made authentic with couple of margaritas] we headed back to dee's place. we weren't sure how exactly we were going to spend the evening. our original plan was to go to a pub, but it was snowing and the roads were getting messy as we drove back to her apartment, so we decided to throw on sweats and a movie. forgetting sarah marshall. i love that movie so much. it somehow gets funnier every time i watch it.
sunday involved sleeping in, waking up to the sound of churchbells, and eating blackberries and cinnamon rolls for breakfast. it was marvelous. early in the afternoon we went to our high school friend janelle's. she had her first baby jan 31, so i pretty much just sat there cuddling a 5 week old baby for a few hours while we talked about wedding plans, hometown gossip, how cute babies are, and how old we all feel now [which we're mostly okay with]. it was a lovely afternoon.
i left kitchener at 4 and was home at 5:15. holler. joshua and i had a dinner at our favourite sushi spot and i loved every gluttonous bite. that was the end of a pig-out era for me. i'm back to trying to eat healthier, and i got back on the treadmill tonight after a hiatus i'd rather not admit to. it's cool tho, i'll get back into the swing of things. i'm already looking forward to my smoked turkey and million cucumber slices sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

cucumbers on sandwichs = (y)!
... i totally forgot the fruit mixture i bring for breakfast in my rush to get to work on time today (i was late nonetheless). it involves a few of each of the following: grapes, strawberries, black and blue berries... and i splurged for raspberries this week. you just made me realize i forgot to grab it out of the fridge. i remembered the yogurt i eat with it though. damn.

Yeah, because of you I've tried pretty much everything I can (sans mushrooms per allergy), and....well, not a high success rating, but at least I know definitively that I DO NOT like endive.

Oh, I know that of course! I wasn't implying you were being anything but awesome, as usual
