bullets seem best.
- i love the train. such a great way to travel.
- arrived, pick-up, border-cross, mexicantown.
- omg chimichangas. om nom nom!
- churros, tres leches cake, and so on. much goodness.
- ann arbor. dorm. hangouts. love kelly.
- surprisingly good sleeps, all weekend.
- mango smoothies make a delicious breakfast.
- chinese food, and the yelling lady restaurant. locked the keys in the car - legitimately not our fault. thank the universe we were so close to kelly's dad's. he came and brought us the magic key. (you'd think you'd tell someone "don't lock the car, there's a key broken off in the lock and you won't be able to open it with the key you have" BEFORE you lend them your car.)
[kel and i waiting for papa j to save the day]
- DAVID'S BRIDAL! i tried on dresses!! it was far more fun than i thought it would be. thankfully it was fun for kelly too. so exciting! kelly was wonderful and took pictures of the dresses, i've already looked at them about 47 times in my "secret" facebook album. she also had to do up my bustier, but hey, what are sisters for? seriously, i love that girl.
[swarvski crystal headband i love]
[sup fascinator?]
[this veil looked SO ELEGANT with kelly's u of m hoodie]
- meijer. cheap liquor, between the pop and chips. my kind of place.
[drink up kiddos]
[5 bottles of wine, long island iced tea, faygo, and doritos. haters gonna hate.]
- gibraltar trade center. taylor, michigan is a special kind of fucked up. want a tattoo? an led detroit tigers hat? an etched mirror/picture of weezy? a quincinera dress? spoupie markers? batteries leaking acid? a giant hamster ball for your child? obsolete computers? all this and more, at the gibraltar trade center.
- wine, pizza, food tv. my kind of night.
- sunday was our ann arbor day. it was not too cold and perfectly clear when we left the dorm in the early afternoon. beuatiful, photo-worthy snow started to fall as we walked around the giant, pretty campus. by the time the snow stopped at night, about a foot had fallen. pretty, but cold and wet. our hair was dripping in our eyes as we stepped inside shops. ridiculous.
- i bought an adorable bag. kelly pointed it out, and it's so cute. black and white, classy, then you open it and - surprise! - zebra-print lining. i love it.
- we also bought the best cupcakes.
[they tasted even better than they look.]
- we met kelly's bff mora for dinner at sushi.com. scrumptious!
[om nom nom]
- mora nearly cried when i told her about trying on dresses, and let her look at the pictures on my camera. it was the most adorable thing. she's so sweet.
- walked home in the snupid snow. warm, dry yoga pants. then back to cold, wet jeans. trekked across campus to meet mora, and their friend travis at the hookah bar. smoking indoors is SO FUCKED UP to me. it's just... wrong, and like i'm time travelling back 10 years. uberweird. travis was hilarious. he's not just a man, he's an experience.
- today we tried to dig the car out, to no avail. kelly's dad and his girlfriend came to pick us up/rescue the car.
- ate middle eastern food. so yum.
- crossed the border. train station right on time.
- toronto, i'll see you soon. |
