another cross-post from tumblr. deal.
OMG. Eep.
I’m all over the place right now, but i’m just so excited!
1. I went shopping and bought jeans TWO SIZES smaller than than those I was wearing at the start of this weight loss. Truthfully, I’m a little paranoid they are a little too tight, but they’re stretchy as fuck, and they didn’t have a size up. The size I’m used to wearing was far too big, so that was excellent.
2. Encouraged by this smaller-pants spree, I came home and decided it was time to try on my “goal jeans”. They fit over my thunder thighs, and did up properly! There’s still some muffin top action, tho I truly believe part of that is because I’m too old to be wearing my scene jeans. Low rise, tight-fitting boot-cut? I’m not built for that style. However, I’m going to keep working on it, and see if i can’t make them wear-able again, even if it’s just for self-satisfaction.
3. Happy I got the goal jeans on, I decided to brave the hand-me-downs my friend brought last week. They are a size down from my goal jeans, and the same size as the stretchy as fuck pair I bought today. I didn’t bother with the 2 pairs of jeans, as they are the same brand as the goal jeans, but in a smaller size… there was no use pushing my luck. Every brand sizes differently tho, and she gave me a pair of shorts from another store. I tried them on, and they fit… sort of! They “floaty-top fit”, which I’ll take at this point. Especially since I’m very picky about shorts and these are the perfect length.
I am on cloud nine right now. Wardrobe possibilities are opening up, but even more than that, I can SEE that this is going somewhere. The encouraging/flattering comments and the compliments are great [seriously, they’re great - keep ‘em coming] but it’s nice to see in tangible terms that I’m making progress.
I also bought a measuring tape today. I’m not sure I’ve EVER measured myself. But now I have [note to self - write them down] and I will know in another quantitative way that I’m successful in this weight loss endeavour. More importantly, I’ll actually be able to use size charts for online orders - key when you’re planning to purchase non-returnables. Frederick’s, here I come! |
