my dad and his fiancee came down this weekend to help me paint my bedroom. I LOVE IT! seriously, i could not be happier with the colours i chose, and how they look on the walls.
they got down here just before lunchtime yesterday, so we prepped the room, threw a coat of eggplant paint on the wall, then ordered pizza for lunch. after lunch was coat #2 of eggplant and a first coat of grey on the other 3 walls. while we let that dry, wendy and i went to pick up a quart of grey paint, and some decorative pillows. when we got back, the 3 of us put a second coat on the grey walls, then washed up.
we went for dinner at bikkuri, they'd never had all your can eat sushi before [my dad was shocked that it existed] and we ate our faces off. after dinner, we came home and moved everything back to its proper place and put all our new linens on the bed. the room looks fantastic, and the bed is a big puffy cloud with the new duvet on it.
josh worked yesterday, then went straight to howard park for matt's birthday party, so he left our old room in the morning and came home to the new version at night. he loves it. apparently he was picturing it differently [despite me telling him at least 80 times what i planned to do] but he loves the way it came out. the only point of contention is one sparkly pillow i bought to put on the bed: he argues it's too girly, i argue the room's extremely masculine in every other regard. i have the receipt and haven't taken the tags off, so we'll see if this is a battle i bother taking on, or just concede and find a few other touches of bling to add to the room.
i plan to take some photos soon, as soon as we hang our pictures and such. i just love it so much!
