i cannot believe how busy it was last night! and it wasn't even a full moon...
there was a head-on collision between two cars full of people. it was disasterous. i did more ct scans (on little humans no less) in a matter of hours than i have in the past few weeks. i also did about a million xrays. thank god the surpervisor called denise to come in. had i been solo all night i would have still been there imaging at 3 am. knowing that they called in 2 nurses, a doctor, and a surgeon made me feel justified in needing backup too. d stayed about 2 hours and things calmed down to a manageable state after that. so much for finishing my christmas cards on work time...
speaking of mail, this is how awesome i am: i had a letter returned to me today, needing more postage. aka any postage. apparently i felt that writing the address on the envelope and dropping it in the postbox was all that was necessary?! i'm super.
i'm in the midst of making christmas happen here. i got a few decorations out, and we hung some garland and set up the tree. however, just before we could hang any decorations, josh called his boss to check up on his hours for the week. apparently he had a shift tonight, and was supposed to start in 20 minutes. way to go, champ. he took off outta here for work, and i don't want to decorate without him, so the "ball hanging" is on hold. i'm guessing pictures will be posted when we're done, if not here then certainly on facebook.
i have to say that i'm pretty proud of myself. it's december first and i'm mostly done my christmas shopping (stocking sutffers included), my christmas cards are mailed (except for those i'm waiting for addresses for) and by night's end my decorating ought to be finished. add to that that travel arrangements are made and a party is planned (and partly shopped for via mom) at home, and i'm doing better than i think i ever have before in regards to christmas prep. |
