okay. pure self-indulgence here.
despite the fact that it wasn't perfect sunny summer weather, i took some pictures of my mom's place today, to give me inspiration for the wedding reception prep - both to kick my butt into making a legit guest list, and to remind me of how beautiful it will look with the garden in full bloom and some decorative touches.
mom's planning to have a pro in to help her with the garden next spring, and had been planning to prior to talk of the reception. just to help tidy things up, as some of the perennials have gotten a little out of hand, that sort of thing. and it's the end of the season, so the garden's in a bit of disarray. same goes for the deck: we're in the process of putting the wicker furniture away for the winter, and we'd just moved the bbq to the upper level of the deck [so it's easily accessible all winter], so please, don't judge.
the reception will be in the back yard, but i took pictures most of the way around the house. you get to see them all.

Also - look into noise permits because you might need one if you plan on being loud and/or having a band.
