I have a cold and it suuuucks. It started with Josh, then Piper picked it up, so I guess it only makes sense that I'd get it. Poor Piper has the typical gross baby snot face, because she hates having her nose wiped and it's not worth it to fight with her, because she just gets worked up and even snottier. I just hope that her poor red nose and dry face recovers in time for her pictures in two weeks.
I went to the spa with my mom on Wednesday and it was super relaxing. Josh stayed home with Piper and it was the longest he's been solo with her; he told me afterward how busy she is and that he got a glimpse of what my days are like chasing after her. I'm glad that he got to see that and appreciate that I'm not just sitting here twiddling my thumbs all day - not that that's what he thought, but I think that witnessing it for a full day gave him a better understanding and appreciation for what my life's been like for the last 11 months. I'm not complaining about being home with her, or anything like that, it's just nice that he got that perspective.
We've submitted our daycare schedule for June. Josh is going to make Wednesday one of his days off each week so he can be home with her at least one day a week. I have a lot of shifts in June, and likely will for July and August as well, but I kind of like that I'm jumping back into work with both feet. It will take some getting used to, and a little time to figure out our new routine, but I think that it'll be good, and if/when my hours settle down in the fall, it'll feel like a bit of a vacation.
Next week I'm going to a bachelorette overnighter/wine tour/party. I am really looking forward to hanging out with a bunch of girls and drinking wine. I have no idea what I'm going to wear, and I feel like I may want to go to bed instead of to the club, but it should be a fun time. I can't believe my bff is finally getting married. I'm so happy for her! I remember her gushing over this guy before I met Josh. She was engaged to another guy, and with an idiot cheater, in the interim, so I'm happy that she's finally getting her happily ever after. |
