i've noticed that i haven't been writing a lot. i think that's because i don't want to bore you, or myself, with details. i'm going to try to write more often, to get back into the swing of things, but the entries might be a little short, or disjointed.
last night was pretty much the perfect night. josh and i went to our last jays game of the season. we scalped tickets, and they were fantastic. i assume it's because we bought more expensive club tickets, we ended up in a section with a mostly older crowd, relatively calm crowd. don't get me wrong, we got riled up at hte appropriate times, but there wasn't any annoying taunting, or vulgar yelling. i go to games to watch and have fun, not feel uncomfortable or annoyed. we were sitting beside a sweet older couple who had flown all the way from calgary for the weekend to stay in a nice hotel and take in all 3 games in the jays-yankees series as the man's birthday gift. they closed the dome [thank god] as the game began, and the lady was so fascinated by it. they were both so adorable.
anyway! on our way into the stadium [after stopping at *my guy* for street meat, of course!] we noticed that pretty much all jays merch was 50% off. we agreed to go check it out later, as there were a few shirts i was deciding between, and it doesn't hurt that josh thinks i loook suuuuper hot in the bautsita shirsey i was wearing. around the bottom of the 3rd we headed down to the main store, and josh bought 2 shirts (lawrie and escobar) and i bought one - arencibia because a) i love him and b) they only had 2 women's styles left and i was already wearing the bautista one. okay fine. we go back up to our seats, and i'm still going back and forth, saying how i've wanted a lind shirt all year, and i should see if a men's fits me alright. now, i LOVE adam lind. love him. i think he's an adorable ginger, and tho i joke that he swings at everything [he does!], he's still got the second best bat stats on the team this season. josh, on the other hand, does not like adam lind. we usually agree on most things, so it's actually become a fun thing to joke about for us. he tells me not to get a lind shift because lind sucks. i was so torn. lind comes to bat in a crucial moment in the 5th. bases loaded, 2 outs, full count! josh predicts he strikes out swinging, i jokingly counter that he'll fly out to right field. i then say "if he hits, i'm buying a shirt". boom! a beauty of a double, with 3 runs batted in. [sorry, my baseball love is showing]. i go NUTS, and head off to find my shirt. there's a kiosk right outside our section, they don't have my size. i head to the main store downstairs, they don't have my size. i come back up to another kiosk, and after terrible service and another rude customer nearly trampling me, find out they don't have the shirt either. grrr. by this point i was frustrated and annoyed, so i went back to our seats. my amazing, wonderful, sweetheart of a fiance goes on a mission. he hates to see me disappointed, and knows how much i want this lind shirt, so he goes running all over the rest of the dome and brings me back a shirt, brand new, still in the wrapping. he's amazing. [also, so much for not boring you with details]
the game was 4-4 in the ninth, and with 2 outs, jose molina knocked a walk-off single. victory! more street meat [back on the diet today!] was consumed, and we came home.
it was pretty much a perfect end to the season, and a perfect night with my bee. now, time to tidy up, pack a bag, and head to my mother's for a day. we're celebrating her birthday tomorrow, so i suppose i'd better get her a gift before i pick josh up from work. |
