i had a FANTASTIC weekend in london.
friday night ben came over and we just hung out and caught up. i showed him stefon for the first time ever, and died laughing. he crashed in our other hotel bed, since we'd been drinking and he didn't really have a ride home lined up. just a fun night.
[our fridge, stocked for friday night.]
saturday we drove ben home, did a little shopping at the great canadian superstore to kill time, then met my friend emilia and her boyfriend for all you can eat sushi lunch. it was the first time i'd met joel, and i approve of him, whole-heartedly. he's a complete gentleman, easy to talk with, not to mention easy on the eyes. i approve of him more than anyone else emilia has ever dated or even been interested in, without a doubt. lunch was tasty, and the conversation was funny and fun.
after lunch we went to masonville, and they had my jacket! omg. i'm seriously so in love with it. it's a little toight, but i know how leather gives. not to mention that it motivates me to lose some weight. and it sucks everything in and makes my tits look fantastic! remind me to take some pictures, because i love the way it makes me look and feel. smexeh! also, its original price was $499, and it was on sale for $169-15%. it was meant to be.
after the mall we headed back to our hotel in the south end, and jesse and her fiance josh came to hang out and eat dinner. jess and i went to the beauty supply store and bought nail polish that i may or may not use for the wedding, as well as professional hair colour for ultra-cheap. it pays having an in with a pro beautician. the 4 of us went for dinner at ben thanh's (again!) and it was so delicious. i will never tire of that place.
jesse and josh watched some of the hockey game with us back in the hotel, then took off. ben stopped by for a quick visit, and to pick up the whiskey he'd left in our room. josh and i were in bed relatively early that night.
sunday morning, we had to cancel breakfast with justin due to some work things that he had to take care of. given his job, and our timing, it was entirely understandable, tho still unfortunate. we decided to take ourselves to cora's anyway, and it was yummy, as always. while there, i bumped into a couple of old colleagues from st. joseph's. it was fun catching up with them, and when i mentioned that i'm a mammographer now, they suggested that i get in touch with my old clinical co-ordinator immediately. apparently st. joe's is getting all of the breast imaging for the entire district, and may need mammo techs. just before i was done my training, the lady who was my clinical co-ordinator moved into a new position, that includes hiring. when i was interviewing for my first job, she was so upset that i was leaving. she practically begged me to stay on as a tech at joe's, but they could only offer me a casual position, and understood that i had to leave for a full time offer. she always liked me as a student, and told me she'd love to hear from me in the future. so today she did. i just emailed her, asking if there would be any breast imaging positions opening up, and asking her to keep me posted if there were. it's sort of a shot in the dark, but i've got nothing to lose by asking.
anyway! cora's is near the cemetary where my grandparents are, so we went there next. today would have been my popa's 79th birthday. wow. i took them new ridiculous flowers, as is the norm for my ridiculous family.
[my classy flower arrangement]
we got back to toronto around 1:30 and spent the afternoon vegging. we cleared the pvr, as is our sunday afternoon custom, then watched aladdin. i can't wait for the lion king to be re-released. disney films, ftw.
i started running the show up at the other clinic today. it went pretty smoothly. i was pleased. now all i have to do is get used to starting at 8. i can do that, it will just take a few days, and a lot of coffee. |
