i read the girl on the train this week. i wanted to read it before they turn it into a mediocre movie. i know that people get annoyed with those "the book is always better" types, but #1. 99% of the time, that's true, and #2. some novels translate to film better than others. i just don't see how they're going to properly shift between perspectives and timelines in a movie. ugh. anyway, my point is that i liked the book, and if you like a good whodunit type story, i suggest reading it before the movie is released and ruins everything.
i'm off work this weekend, with nothing but typical housework to do, and it feel fantastic. i feel like i've been working so many weekends, and the few that i've been off have been spent running around. it was awesome to sleep in today, do some laundry, get groceries, and relax on the couch. i'm going to try to enjoy all the downtime i can manage before our little bean makes an appearance.
we've got the crib, glider, and dresser for the nursery. they're all still boxed, but just having them here makes me feel better. i'm going to pick up some more paint samples this week, and get paint either this week or next. then next week my mom will start painting the nursery. because we're doing 2 colours, and want to give the first time to properly cure before painting over it, it should take about 2 weeks to get things all done in there. then we can set up the furniture and hopefully the nursery will be well on its way by the end of march. i've been asked not to buy anything else until my baby shower in april, which totally makes sense; i'm cool with that because the big stuff will be taken care of, we will surely be given some great gifts, and then i'll still have at least a month to pick up anything we still need.
here's today's bump, in maternity jeans, which feel strange as hell:
