things have been going well. josh and i hit up ikea on tuesday afternoon, and managed to bring home 2 dressers, a nice big desk, a set of shelves for the bathroom, and 2 bags of miscellaneous things home in my echo. even i was impressed. the shelves [for the bathroom] are assembled, as is the desk [for josh's "man room"], but the dressers are still boxed in the bedroom. oh well, i guess they're monday's task. we just haven't felt up to it.
tuesday night we went to see zombieland with christopher. loved it. that's really all i need to say.
wednesday josh and i headed downtown to the eaton centre. we felt rather like failures, coming home with nothing but a new sweater for me [purple argyle, so cute!] and nothing for him, but it served as a recon mission, and josh talked to every cell phone provider so we can make the best decision about his phone/plan. we've taken the weekend to mull it over, and monday we'll go and get him a phone.
thursday we left the city in the late morning, and drove up to my parents'. it's so wonderful to be able to do that! we decided to make our long weekend thursday-sunday as opposed to friday-monday so we'll be back in toronto for a day of "self-time" before i start my new job on tuesday. we'll still do the whole thanksgiving dinner deal, but it'll be sunday evening, and josh and i will leave right after. mom'll just have to freeze her turkey soup till the next time i visit. haha.
i'm going to a bridal shower this afternoon, for some bride i don't even know. oh, family obligations. oh well, i usually win something at this sort of thing, so i'm hoping for that. also, it gives me a chance to dress up just a little, and i always appreciate that.
speaking of clothes, have i mentioned how much i love sweater weather? a nice knit sweater is so fabulous. cashmere makes my life better. fact. |
