i have been TERRIBLE at updating.
long weekend was last weekend. baseball game friday night, best seats i've ever had - and they were free! awesome.
saturday, i got day drunk with caitlin, zach, and matt. it was pretty awesome, to be honest.
sunday, josh and i went to another ball game. scammed sweet seats in the shade on a roasting hot, open-dome day. i was thankful for that.
monday was spent cleaning, relaxing, enjoying having the day off together. oh yeah, my dad also got married, but i didn't go. long story short, they decided on wednesday to get married on the long weekend, and it was just ridiculous and not feasible for me to be there. i think when it's the third wedding for both, and it's planned days in advance, you have to expect that not everyone will be able to show up.
then tuesday to friday i worked, alone, fully booked. it was pretty insane, but i got thru it, with what i like to consider minimal bitching.
my friend krysta was visiting from halifax for the week, and stayed with us wednesday afternoon thru to saturday morning. it was excellent to see her! she's one of those friends that just seems like they've been around forever. in fact, she pointed out that this was only the third time we'd actually hung out, and it took some serious thinking on my part before realising that she was right. we went out for sushi on wednesday night. thursday she was out and about visiting friends. josh joined her and her posse for beers after work, but i wasn't feeling it and just stayed in. friday krysta and josh hung out and did some urban adventuring while i was at work, then andrew and caitlin came over for an impromptu pulled pork and baseball watching party. the game was a joke, and suddenly we were shitfaced, at andrew's suggestion of "lets have a drink".
andrew, caitlin, and krysta all got along immediately, which was great. you know how sometimes friends from different parts of your life just don't quite jive together? not the case. and it was really cool to see old friends thru new eyes. it reminded me how great my friends are, how funny and smart they are, and how happy i am to have them in my life.
i spent the weekend doing, essentially, very little. my big project was fiiiiinally doing our wedding photo album. i'd been procrastinating, and it was time to finally get it done. it took longer than i thought it would, but at the same time, i didn't even notice time going by. i'm super satisfied with the way it's arranged, and now it just needs josh's stamp of approval, and i'll order it. we're buying 3 copies, one for us and one for each of our moms. they should arrive by june 12, which is plenty of time before the reception. yay.
